Fuck this. NSB shouldn't support Zumiez; they should support skate shops.
I completely agree with this sentiment, but it's gotten to the point that it's a question of what's a legitimate skate shop.
I live in los angeles where the three closest shops to me are active, ccs, and a surf/skate shop called zjs. Active and CCS are both located on the third street promenade, which is an outdoor mall where the majority of foot traffic is from tourists. That said, any person that happens to walk by either of these stores can access the "core" nike (or adidas) merchandise. I personally think that ccs and active are on the same level as zumiez, for better or worse. Because no longer is the criteria for the stockists to be outside of a major shopping center, I don't see there being any difference to allow zumiez to carry the shoes, unless the argument is that ccs and active are more of a skate shop than zumiez (which I do not think is the case).
