I think this is abp? But since I didn't read it I'll post, why are they making a clothing line? Do shoe companys make a lot off clothing? What about shops? Do they make money off clothing?
The markup is way bigger for clothing than for boards. If I'm not mistaken, decks cost $25-$35 wholesale and if you were to keystone them (the standard practice of doubling the wholesale price for retail) most of them would be quite a bit more expensive. Clothing (and shoes) on the other hand can be marked up minimum of double what you paid for it, so you're likely to make more even if you sell less.
I'm pretty sure there are still kids out there who are label whores and have little problem shelling out $60-70 for a pair of Matix/Altamont/Quicksilver jeans Maybe not as many as two years ago, but they're still there.
