Guru actually isn't sikh. He said so in his latest Thrasher interview. He just doesn't cut his hair for pretty much no reason.
you've clearly never seen his parents. he might not be into the faith he was raised on or maybe just not into talking about it but he was raised by parents who were clearly really heavily into it.
Exactly. He explained it in another interview. His parents were sikh, but apparently it is a religion you must actively engage in tobe considered a member. He didn't cut his hair as a kid because of his parents' beliefs, and said he felt keeping it despite not going with the religion.
Interesting related fact, according to the Sikh religion, the name "Khalsa" is not a last name but a name of honor for the most spiritual of people. When you reach a certain level, they give you that name. His parents were given that name before they migrated here, and it became their legal last name, so Guru got the name "Khalsa" without actually earning it.
