i think its funny. the fucking graphic designers didn't go stay in ny with the riders at the volcom apartment. to me the only thing that looks similar is the logo. i'll give them that.

The font is the same one that Element and Bueno use for their designs. Sieben does the art at Bueno and does some stuff for Volcom.

the name is even arguable. they are based out of socal dude. the spanish language its spoken there. if they are making enviromently sound clothing the word green kind of applies. not like the over pretentious name of the other brand.

well, i checked, and neither Verte nor Verde is a registered trademark......so, legally, there's nothing Verte can do to stop Verde from using their mark. If Verte were to register its mark, then they could sue Volcom for the used of Verde....because both the meaning of the words and the logo themselves are substantially similar and could cause confusion with consumers.

so, if Verte is actually serious about it, they should register their mark and go after Volcom......the only problem is that Verte probably doesnt sell enough product to show any sort of "damages" due to Volcom's use of the Verde line....the best they could do is to try for an injunction.

but im sure just writing nasty notes on the internet is satisfaction enough

You don't need a trade mark, you just need to prove "first use" of the mark. With 5 years of similar product in the market, I think Verte could prove "first use."

Something to TOTALLY not care about - so i should be going to skate shops to get over priced skate clothes and not just getting white t's from Decatholon or getting freebies from mates ?

Fuck i didn't know, last time i looked skate t's were between £25-£30, so in dollars that's $40-$60.

I mean what was i thinking, eat food and pay rent, spend it on beer and piss it up against the wall, nah i could be saving the enviorment with some carp i've never heard off vs some crap i wouldn't buy - DUH me ! ! ! !
