I often want stuff but never feel like I need it. However, I 100% NEED these.

Am I missing something about state footwear? I can't be the only one who thinks all of their shoes look absolutely hideous. I like that they're authentic and skater owned, but that's about it. These shoes look like a janoski that was designed at ipath, to be sold at Khol's. All of their shoes have a very Khols aesthetic to them imo. From what I read here they're really good quality, but that's not enough to convince me they aren't terrible in every other way. No hate to anyone who likes them

I also don't understand the hype, particularly in light of all the trash talk on Emerica. They look exactly like every other shoe on the market. Swap the logos and they could be from any company.

Not a new shoe per se but Ripped Laces just posted for the first time since June 2018.

I honestly thought he was wearing 2 different shoes in that ad with Ishod.
Yeah, not sure why is trying to put all these clunky cupsoles on the new models.. doesn't look great.
I feel like people will skate whatever Vans puts out. The Berles aren't great looking and chunkier then most shoes people have been skating, yet they're selling well from what I can tell. As long as they market it, they'll sell.

skate a pair then! Quality on the insoles alone blows a lot of companies out the water. There’s actually a lot of thought in the design too even though they look simple. Even the canvas models have lots of little tweaks in them that make them last for ages. I don’t really dig vulcs anymore but if I’m going to rock some, 9 out of 10 they’ll be states

The insoles are really nice. Thinner in the heel than most vulc insoles but still seem to provide the same amount of cushion. This gives the shoes better boardfeel and stability than Vans Pros for example.

Durability is average. Not better or worse than Vans Pros IMO.

I personally like the simple designs. Not all of them but they always have stuff I’d be cool with.

But the sole design is a tragic! Traditional herringbone pattern but for some reason they gather pebbles like mad. More so than any other shoes I’ve had. I’m only skating mine indoors to avoid fucking up my griptape every session. Won’t be getting any more pairs unless they fix the sole design.

When State first came out there were some photos of sample cup soles and they looked really good! But they must still be ramping up to that.

I think someone said that they didn't get enough pre orders for the cupsoles to make it worth the risk investing in making them or some shit like that so they ditched the whole idea.

Both the black and white colorways of the Berle Pro actually look really sick. I wonder why they chose to start with that terrible red/black colorway instead of something neutral like that.
