Tried the Stan Smith ADVs on.  Pretty comfy and no weird fit issues or poking like with the vulc.  All I’d recommend is at least going down a half size.  Adidas usually fits true for me, but I had a little more room at the toe than I’d prefer

Got 'em in at the shop. They're little rubber pieces sewn on there.

The new Vans skate label Old Skools are retailing for $170 here in Australia. For reference, Old Skool Pro's were $140. Pretty big price jump. Feel hard pressed to justify paying that much for a vulc.

170AUD is 130USD. It must be hard to skate in Australia.

Pricing seems to vary between brands more so than in the USA. Blazer GTs retail for AUD$120 which seems comparable to the price worldwide. Might be the way Vans imports that the product goes through more hands before getting to the consumer. Nike probably has it way more streamlined.

I just saw that too, from PassPort Gallery shop, thought it was just boutique prices, but no that is the standard price now.

Happy to say I have enough shoes to last til my dying day I think, but I would be curious to see if the new ones are that much better to justify those prices, or how much longer they last.

A couple of dollars at the manufacturing end makes for a hefty jump at the retail end.

For those US dudes thinking WTF, the Aussie prices for everything are about double what you might think you have as RRP there in the US, as we have higher wages and everything sort of evens out, but it does seem excessive with how much things have gone up since 2020 pre covid to now.

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Australian prices are ridiculous for everything, not just skate goods. Ask some of the Aussies on here how much rent they pay per week!
Yeah, your pay in Aus is a lot higher, but I highly doubt I could make a living there being the sole bread winner with two young kids ...

Seems like they took the price off the instagram post, but it might be the first Aussie shop to put them up anyway.

The Rowan shoe in the new port colourway is $139.99 and a couple of Blazer low GT are $119.99 and $109.99 for comparison.  The Last Resort AB shoe in low is $139.99 and high is $149.99 so apart from the Vans AVE and Crockett which top out at $199.99 and $189.99 they are up there as the highest price shoes on the market.

This is still NOT the highest price shop I have seen though, but that is about right for RRP on those shoes listed.

Anybody try the first drop of Busenitz Vintage?  Any real difference besides the tongue and stripes?
I'd love a Busenitz I could skate, but the heel slip is real.

I’d trade someone that Kalis shoe in the pack for their Lynx in a heartbeat. No one want that Kalis shoe but the washed dudes that use words like “puffy” instead of cushioning. Y’all are true pieces of shit.

the reg. Busenitz pro is my all time cupsole ever... and, yea, the only downside is you have to play with the lace configuration/tightness until you figure out that perfect ratio to keep the heel locked.  I think the vintage fit a little bit better, but to get that fit, they reduced the padding a bit, which doesnt bother me.

hardly art, hardly starving

Could be the same as for the Kalis/Williams double box. They were $250.

But I could see them being less than that.
