Strong showing?! I know taste is subjective but half of those look like they weren't even finished.
That Brighton is the laziest design I've seen in ages... Like, they didn't even bothered to put some branding on the tongue or in the heel. I get a clean design, but that aint clean, it just looks cheeeeap.
The Fade totally butchered the OG's, and I'm actually a fan of slimmed down classics when done right, this aint the case;
Those Evo 2s look's like a knock of a fast fashion shoe which itself is a knockoff of some other runner. Who the fuck wants a unskateable runner from Lakai?!
The Dover with the cheesy ass branding, trying to be cleaver but looks terrible.
The Riley 3 looks like the Carrol 5 fucked a boat shoe (I do like the blind seams, looks more premium, but that's it).
I guess the VA (Atlantic) and the Telford are alright, but there's not much that saves that catalogue for me...
Damn, beat me to most of the points to make.
Why Doesn't Lakai just have the Manchester Cup be a regular in the line up? The Brighton has the paneling in front of the flare curve slightly from shoe laces to sole...and that makes it a totally new model? Manchesters are such a staple shoe for them and it's timeless: simple cupsole with some padding around the ankle and no stitches on the toe, sounds like what many want, and having the vulc version with it gives good options.
The Dover making it into production was a mistake. It gives me Billy Marks's Filament pro model vibes with such an excessively large toe going back to little to no design toward the heel.
The Oxford is unnecessary, the Riley 3 is pretty much that with the Carroll 5 toe internally stitched into it.
I like the VA shoes, and the Telfords look awesome, however hearing people's take on their fit doesn't give me hope for them staying around past maybe a few years tops.
If the Fade wasnt called the Fade, wasnt 50% mesh, and the sole had some personality to it, I would like it so much more. It's different but as I look at it more, I start not liking it.
