I actually don't dislike DC in 22 but they don't have the skills or the materials to make a decent Rick Howard 1 reissue

They had a half decent go a few years back I think it was called the Baltimore. Prob around the same time lakai made that rick shoe that was a bit like the DC. Not a direct remake tho of course just inspired design but the quality was good.

it was called biltmore, not baltimore (but close enough for me to find it)

Yeah the Biltmore was actually intended to be the Wenning 2 but things fell apart with Wenning before they released it so it became a team shoe. Same sole as the first Wenning. I had a sample pair of them for a super long time that I was trying to sell but no one was biting so almost ended up skating them but then someone bought them. Felt like it would be a good shoe to skate still today. Here's the pair that I had:



Probably better to skate by today's standards than the Howard 2, but obviously don't look as good. And yeah those Howards in the Shanahan post are definitely vintage, not new.

In other news I did hear rumours that Shanahan will be getting a pro shoe but I can't really confirm because our shop doesn't carry DC. If he is though it's way overdue.

The sole on the Wennings was really good, felt very grippy and seemed to last a long time when I skated a DS pair I found online in 2013. I wish I could find more to skate, to be honest. They never seem to pop up on fleabay.

When I skated with the DC lot in September, he had on these samples that were a mix of what I think is a Centric upper with a Legacy OG sole. I think he mentioned they were samples, so who knows if this is a team model or a pro model shoe for him. I think the goldencollector guy posted a screengrab of a load of DC shoes and that one was in the mix.

Now that you say it, it does seem insane Shanahan doesn’t have a shoe already.   I can’t even think who DC’s signature pros are off the top of my head (Kalis is emeritus status, I mean young guys).   My only thought is that he just wanted to keep skating the shoes he liked m.

I have the beef & broccoli Timbo Cabs. They're super dope. I love them. Mainly just like them because they look like a nice 90s hiker like Hi-Tec or something like that which is a style I'm super into. I'm not into the other colour at all.

Went for a big long winter hike with my dog on Sunday in them and they felt great.

Ive Seen a few pairs in the wild a couple towns over.. The shop there only has FP and Cariuma shoes.. both crimes against humanity

It probably saves the hassle of registering a new company and time/money to build a social media presence. Habitat, unlike the other brands, had decent-looking shoes, but I had some OCD where I felt that I would have to skate Habitat boards in order to wear the shoes.
