So they tested the toecap market with the TFunk, kicked him off, then made his shoe better?

he left mutually. apparently he was never happy with his shoe even though he did all the sampling, threw some big hissy fit at the release. seems like a basket case.

I feel like they could have easily made the black parts rubber or some other ”vegan” option instead of leather and it would have been more interesting. Maybe the colorway reminded me of Nyjahs... kinda tempted still though...

My little sister got me those horrible janoski boots and I couldn’t deal with them and returned them. Such a stupid idea for a shoe no matter who makes them.

If you want a boot buy a real boot. These half measures are embarrassing.

They aren’t my style of shoes either but they look like totally normal decent skate shoes to me, I like them fine enough.
They also look cooler than most Vans to me.

I think the problem with those Riley boots is that vertical seam on the heel/ankle. The Romero Chelsea boots (which I have a pair of and I remember being well-liked on here when they came out) uses elastic at the ankles so it looks a little cleaner on the sidewalls. Most (maybe all?) of the Romero boots were part of the Reserve collection and used high quality leather which I think made a big difference in how much people liked them.

The Shifter too looked a lot better when it was released through the Reserve collection too if I remember correctly.
