Are Es' really worth the outrageous prices they charge? I had a pair of the accel slim mids and the bagged out super quick, I blew through the suede in a few sessions, and I got them because I remembered how good old accels held up. That pair i got felt VERY cheaply made. Would be fine if they were a budget shoe but they were like 70-80 iirc, and I see these other shoes they sell going for like 90-110. is the quality up to par?

I really like my accel slims, and haven't noticed them bag out quickly. The sole does wear away faster than NB or Adidas, etc though. I like their shoes, and yeah they always end up to sales racks it seems. Have had many of these re-boot models, they all held okay some better than others like that accel slim might be thinnest shoe from their catalogue while seslas were like tanks. Never paid over 50 for them.

e. Actually, I haven’t paid over 50 for skateshoes in nearly two decades, there’s always some discount stuff I don’t care about new models or colors, they gonna get shred anyways. Chillers are different story tho…

They were pretty good. Had a few pairs of those SLB mids...aside from my feet being hot and to sole being too thin, they were nostalgic enough for me to be happy with them. I always swap insoles on eS anyway.

I think they just need more people on their team that people care about. Asta and wade d are tight, but that's not a team, it's a start. They need to put better insoles in their accel slims too, with all that sti marketing bullshit you end up getting a Walmart ass insole so dumb.

eS had so many dope looking non-pro model shoes in the early 2000s. Just reach into the bag and reissue more stuff; or maybe even modernize the design a little. There’s no need for this sole swap, wacky colored nonsense. Like I get the brand wants to progress and put new stuff out, and there’s definitely room for it and not all of it is bad, but at some point you just ask yourself “Who’s buying these?”

I was about to buy a pair of the Quattros but I saw them in person and they're bulkier than I thought. Still not totally off the table, though.

I've had pairs of eS here and there. They're not bad, but not incredible either.

I had a pair of the SLB reissues with the inner sock and they were good shoes, but SLB in name and look only. They like you said performed the same as an accel slim or similar es models. Definitely a far cry from the SLB's from before but that's just what it is nowadays.

I know I'm the resident eS hater here but I really don't understand the point of reissuing these super dated designs only to bastardize them so much that it alienates anybody that would be nostalgic about them in the first place. I've never been a DC guy but at least when they do that their designs are mostly faithful. The Menikmati cosplay is really embarassing and I know I'm right because at any given time they have more shoes in the sales section than not.

I actually didn't like the fit of the first two, same as back in the day, but the SLB 97's were so amazing I had multiple pairs when they remade them. That sole was far more substantial than the Accel Slim sole. Even when it's bald there's still lots of life left in it. Those things held up great.

But also, you know some people like a cupsole with more boardfeel, right? We don't all want tanks for shoes just because we prefer a cup.

Modern basketball shoes often don’t have materials that are skate friendly, but some of the sole tech …would be nice to try.
I’ve almost gotten Lebron soldiers, for this reason.
Some Nike tennis shoes looked like e-cues, could be fun.

I used to see people that would maybe hangout around skaters, maybe they used to skate, whatever. You know the dudes, hanging out smoking, drinking, writing. Anyways, they’d grab someone’s board and do like a ‘switch varial heel’, or someshit, in $200 Griffey’s. It was like ‘kids’ 15 years later. Kinda sick tbh. ‘Aye lemme use your board’.

Now I want to skate in those thick ass shoes because I eat too much and my feet hurt
