Honestly I’m here for it. Even if it’s a 1:1 reissue and too chunky for the modern era.

They don’t look too bad. But for actual skating I don’t understand why the sole is so big in the back, almost like it’s a wedge/heel. I couldn’t skate in those myself. Kinda remind me of an Air Max sole.

Yeah it's very close. Only thing I really noticed off the bat is the lack of plastic eyelets. This looks cleaner honestly. The original colorway had red plastic eyelets.

I’m glad they got canceled they look dumb and I’m sure Grosso wouldn’t be hyped on them. Plus, Oliver won’t see a slice of that resale that those shoes will go for.

I love me some XLTs too, but yeah, Rowley teases a lot and won’t drop it in OG vegan materials so I’ll just remember how good the original ones were!

look at the vans logo on the sample tag, no way these are current

that being said it would be cool to see these out again, and if they do i attribute it to the trung nguyen respectfully part that came out last year

Yeah it's very close. Only thing I really noticed off the bat is the lack of plastic eyelets. This looks cleaner honestly. The original colorway had red plastic eyelets.

I had this colorway back in the day and they skated amazingly and were very durable. They are not much raised in the heel, that part of the sole was there for stability, foot sits much deeper in the shoe than it looks.
Can't wait to get these reissues.

no way they are current? I’d be inclined to agree with you, but AFAIK neither of those colourway a existed in the early 2000s…

Yeah sadly Rowley is def known to post his old samples. But I feel like this model and iteration in particular has a nice blend of golden era aesthetics that aren't too jarring and out of place for a shoe in 2022 like a lot of other reissues that have come back.
