I work in a shop and have never heard a single complaint about black soles. This seems like a slap only issue and I would agree vans is out of touch but this more seems like you assuming everyone shares your opinion.

Honestly black soles just ruin most colorways Vans puts out, that I would have otherwise maybe bought. Unless it's all black upper, black soles should be put on the back burner.

i feel the same way, i share that opinion, i hate black soles on shoes unless the shoe is entirely black

all the tiagos that have black soles are sick. the all green ones, the brown timberland type jawns etc.

I really like the vans/quasi green with the black soles. and I used to be a hater of black soles as well, but they really look good on certain colorways

Black sole here, fine.  NB only really did it for Tiago models.   Might have purchased the brown 1010s with a gum or white sole.   Vans just felt like they were overdoing it.
