Im sure this has been covered before but is there a difference between the Halfcab Skate 92’ vs Halfcab Skate. Both are the skate versions but I wondered if one had a better fit.

There is a difference, contrary to what was said in another thread. I will preface this by saying that a lot of the Vans models that are the 92 are marked as being the skate versions. Also, it's been different from release to release, as the navy/taupe '92 half cabs from last year were very different from the other 92 half cabs from what I remember. Outside paneling doesn't make a huge difference with the feel, it's just a visual preference. The foxing on the 92 is slightly higher, the tongue is a lot more puffy, the toe cap on the 92 is curved like the originals, and the collar of the 92 is slightly thicker/stiffer. The skate version seems to typically utilize a mixed canvas/suede construction whereas the 92 is usually all suede. I don't notice a big difference with breathability, but the half cabs in general are just big sweatboxes during summer. In terms of on foot and wearing, there isn't really any major difference. It's yet again a matter of visual preference. I personally wear the Skate more and the 92 less, but I've just given up on half cabs working for anything all-day.

I saw in pics the sk8 half cab has a more angled heel area vs the sk8 92 half cab.

Not sure if illusion or not but my heel sleeps so bad in the 92 despite the fat tongue crushing my foot
Heavy, Hot, frustrating shoe. I got the 92 navy dress blues and barely wear them because they are so stiff

I honestly like them aside from the hiking laces, and exaggerated jazz stripe. But I've also always been in to pretty much the opposite of what's trendy.

It just looks like a shoe one would specifically find at a Journeys or an outlet - a reject. I don’t understand why the sole is two different colors that are not featured elsewhere on the shoe, or why they chose multiple off-white colors for the upper. I tend to like hiking laces, but they don’t fit here, agreed on that. Too loud for the rest of the shoe and nobody I know is going hiking in shoes that light colored.

Yeah, I think it's well understood it'a hust between etnies & michelin by those that know about  the partnership.

 It's still worth exploring the idea to mix tech across brands under soletech. If they did that, Es quality could be as great as Etnies and Emerica. The G6 sole and Michelin soles are easily in the top 5 best skate tech out right now.

Cons and Nike kind of do/did it effectively with good success here and there, so fingers crossed other sister brands could do it.

I personally love the Marana and Joslin, but the G6 cupsole breaks in faster than the Michelin, so a hybrid would be ideal in some way. I know others in here would cosign it

Fantastic point! That could reinvigorate some of their sales since everyone wants their shoes to last for how expensive gear is right now.

gnar, c1rca just dropped probably the best reissues i've seen and under $100 and under the radar almost too, they look pretty identical to the 805/201s i had. Nice colors to boot as well

Looks like even shops are getting faked out with this. Top Of The World in Ottawa has them listed as white/navy and a corresponding photo on their site, but then yesterday they posted a photo of them on Instagram and it's the white/elephant ones:

There aren't any white/elephant ones listed on their site, so I assume if you order the white/navy ones, the white/elephant ones are what you would receive.
