problem is that LRAB is pretty dogshit. the construction looks nice at first, but once you get some miles on them they're just godawful.

I've tried LR enough times with the same result. They somehow have atrocious heel slip from the leather despite the lacing being cranked. I want to like the simple designs but the shoes feel awful.

I'll give the benefit of the doubt. In all of these years of owning and wearing shoes, I've never had a pair that were of bad quality as a pair of early LRAB. I wore them once to work, and by the end of the day the sole was slightly separating, my white socks had turned orange from the suede, and the glossy coat on top of the rubber sole was peeling off. I sent them an email with details, they sent me a message back asking for photos, I sent them, and they basically told me to fuck off and buy a new pair. Mind you, I bought a pair of shoes from another company who makes their shoes in the exact same factory as LRAB (Seavees) and had the foxing tape start to peel off after 3 weeks. I contacted them and they told me to pick any pair off the website. I picked another style and they sent it to me free. No proof of purchase necessary, no photos.

The generic white dude style from about HB down through OC and into the alt bro parts of North County is definitely ~15 years behind shit people were doing in Williamsburg back in the day. Cropped tight pants, motorcycle influenced apparel/jackets, rolled up beanies, etc. Dakota Servold is like their style icon. Not everyone is like that and you have your various sub groups of people on 3-5 year old trends- your dunk adherents, kids that just found out about Big Boys, hesh revivalists.

what a nightmare. And shitty on LR to do that in the messages. Now I know to stay further away from that company… The only 2 pair of LR I’ve had were the spitfire collab and the croc leather brown lows and they were some of the most dogwater quality shoes I’ve put on my feet. Not to mention they fit huge like Cons sizing. Pontus blew it at some point making that brand

You don't just shoegoo the foxing tape back in place? That's what I'd do with every single pair of vulcanized shoes I've ever owned. I cannot fathom emailing a company complaining about this lmao. This is some Reddit behavior.
