I could out-rap Jay-Z, Kanye, and Nicki Minaj's nipple in one recording.

you probably could, but i don't think they made the album to prove they're the best technical or lyrical rappers out there.

i'm not gonna lie though, i never really fucked with Jay's music too much, but he has some really brilliant, double, triple and even quadruple entendres on WTT.

check out his opening lines in "Gotta Have It"

"Buellar had a Muller but I switched it for a Mille 'cause I'm richer, and prior to this shit was moving freebase."

1. Franck Muller watch
2. Richard Mille watch, which he's pronouncing as "milli" 'cause he's richer
3. Richer, which he's pronouncing as Richard
4. Prior, which he's pronouncing as Pryor
5. Richard Pryor starred in a movie called 'Moving' in 1988 and also suffered severe burns in 1980 while freebasing cocaine.

you need to head on over to www.rapgenius.com/albums/Kanye-west-jay-z/Watch-the-throne and let them help you decipher half the shit Hova's talking about. some of his lines in "No Church In The Wild" are fucking crazy

Line: "Is Pius pious cause God loves pious?"

Meaning: Probably a rap first: a reference to Plato's Euthyphro

The Euthyphro dilemma arises when Socrates asks Euthyphro, "Is the pious loved by the gods because it is pious, or is it pious because it is loved by the gods"? In other words, (i) do the gods love something because it is pious or (ii) is something pious because the gods love it? Socrates and Euthyphro both agree that (i) is true, but Socrates argues that if (ii) is also true and something is pious because the gods love it then (i) and (ii) together would yield a self-perpetuating cycle in which the gods love the pious because it is the pious and the pious are only pious because the gods love it

The dialectic gets at one of the central questions of morality (sovereignty, omnipotence, freedom of the will, morality without God) and has implications not only for metaphysics and theology but also for epistemology.

Line: "Socrates asked whose bias do y'all seek?"

Meaning: For Socrates, truth is subjective and therefore reduced to bias. In other words, there is no objective truth. He was forced to drink a cup of poison hemlock because his views were heretical in Athenian society.

What is truth in the No Church of the Wild? A matter of preference. This relativist sentiment goes against the vein of Abrahamic religions.

"No Church In The Wild", the most-anticipated track from Watch The Throne.. the title indicates an existential renunciation of God.

Reminiscent of Cassius in Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar"

"The fault, dear Brutus
Is not in our stars
But in ourselves
That we are underlings"

this is the first thing i realized with this album. it loses all it's momentum when all those lame-ass R&B tracks pop up (13-17.)

the album was pretty good up to that point. shame on Game.

I know but the ignorant fools out there will only assume they would come out now because of success of Kanye and Jay-Z. Even Lil' Wayne and Drake are coming out with a collaboration and even Waka and Gucci got compared in some sort of light to Jay and Kanye because they made an album together.

Nas and AZ would be something that should have happened a long time ago. I'd even look past the Firm album they put out.
