I want to try Ace’s. That’s all I have to say.
same. BUT...

I am in the on-deck circle because as of this week I have 3 trucks I am wanting to ride/break in more and MORESO waiting for the new Ace lineup to be announced/release.

I have some almost brand new thunders but I know I don't like them. But yeah, I don't have money to blow right now anyways so I'm going to wait for the new lineup for now.

Does anyone else have a feeling the new Ace will suck and trying to hunt down the previous models is going to be a pain in the ass. For example, dealing with resellers charging a stupid amount etc. I want to try Ace's but there doesn't seem to be an ETA on the new lineup, just sometime in the spring?

I'm super thankful to have a set of 44s on ice.

I doubt the new trucks will suck. It's a killer truck.

I'd fricking kill for a set of the new ones with a hollow kingpin and mag plate. Just to be ultra truck nerdy.
Plz stop killing each other

I did the Krux Down Lows a while back.

A few set-ups later...

I’m about where your top pic was at rn. How did you press out the kingpins?
[close]
Whack the kingpin with a dead blow hammer. Clean the pocket out and set the new kingpin nut. JB Weld the nut in there, but be careful not to get any in the nut. I taped it closed. You might need to sand the top bushing down a bit to give the kingpin a good bite. Its a really close fit and if you ride loose trucks, you might not get it secure. At first I added some Loc-Tite, but ended up sanding the bushings.

Does the jbweld hold it in there good?

So far, havnt had any issues with the JB Weld. Ive done 2 sets of trucks and no problems.

I ride 66s, stock, Flush in the back, just under flush in the front.
I ride my aces tighter than my indies.
1/8“ ml risers that fit perfectly

I've always kept Ace stock, never played with changing bushings at all. Don't see the need.

On the other hand for Indys I will put Bones in them before I even mount the trucks. I haven't used stock Indy bushings for the last 3 sets I've had.

After the initial break in they keep getting better and better. My old ass indies still have the best turn.

I,realized though, that the hollows come with after market bushings that seem to be higher quality and don‘t shred up that much but never feel as good as the stock orange ones.

Stock bushings. Nylock thread flush with kingpin. No inside washers on the 55s, 2 on the outside. 2 inside washers on 44, 1 outside washer.

I've always found indy bushings get weirdly hard but also soft at the same time and tend to lean to one side after not that long.

Last set I left stock, loosened them 1/2 turn from factory; they're sitting on my cruiser.

I ride mine just a tiny looser than flush, idk what it is but after riding a cruiser for so long with indys I just became so much more comfortable with looser trucks

I’m not Matt Rodriguez loose but I’d say I’m a good medium where the non skater person will say it’s loose but an actual skater would say it’s kinda loose

I use to swear by tight because it helped me pop but
All my tricks were sketchy and tic tac, now I actually have some of that thing they call steez

Feels way better too, especially the smooth feeling of feeling into your tricks before you pop and how easy it feels landing and rolling away

These aces really are amazing if you like loose ish smooth trucks, not as light or solid feeling as a light Indy but the turning geometry makes up for it
yes

I like my Ace’s just about wiggley but not Daewon style.

I like stock bushings if they start to split I switch to Bones.

Currently i'm riding mine with both washers in, nut flush with the bolt, but I swapped the bushings for Bones Hardcore soft (blue) and they feel amazing. Loosey goosey!

You could shave down the top bushing a little, that does the trick for me on pretty much every other truck I’ve wanted to loosen up.

Use Indy/thunder washers. They are around half a mm thinner per washer so it feels like you open the nut by 1mm, much difference and easily reversible

My 33’s and 44’s are both a couple years old and so used to ride them medium/tight, so the bushings are super smushed and broken in. Now I ride them loose so the bushings are already perfectly broken in and turn really nicely.

My 55’s, which I’ve only used probably ten times total, are still a bit stiff because the bushings haven’t broken in yet, but still turn pretty nice.

All unmodified bushings and washers.

Tried Ace 44's today after Thunder 149's on an 8.25 and my mind is blown. Loose yet stable, not nearly as twitchy and nose wheelies make sense now. Just feel em out

Bought my first pair of 55's a couple months ago. Just put them on 2 weeks ago. Switched out the bushings for Indy's Super Soft and currently riding with no bottom washer and I swapped the top washer for the one that comes with Bones bushings.

I am loving these trucks  ;D

Or you could totally commit to the madness and get a set of the ACE LOW bushings and use the top with the stock bottom - makes a huge difference if you ride loose.

There are a few sets of Ace Low bushings at the local, I’ve considered it but wasn’t quite sure. Good to know it does the job. My 44s can get loose, but 55s still haven’t gotten to that point yet.

Coronavirus?

I’d say that’s probably 99% accurate. So much comes from China, and industries across the board are severely affected by this.

if that's the case wonder how that'll affect indy since they just moved to china. wonder if there will be a shortage of ace and indy.
