Good to see the Ace thread active again. As mentioned in the truck thread, if you guys wanna try a stage 11 149 Indy to get that true 8.5” width on an Ace baseplate, it works perfect. Not knowing I’d think I was riding a full on Ace truck and not a frankentruck. I’m thinking of doing a Destructo hollow kingpin and then a titanium Indy 149 to kick things up a notch.

I have a pair of Ace baseplates laying around, I'm gonna try this. Thanks for the tip, my guy.

Tried this for kicks. Can confirm, works really well. No weirdness or bind in the turn at all. Use the stock Ace bottom and an Indy top bushing if you wanna get real loose.

I use the stock Ace bushings from the stage 2’s that are really hard, but I broke them in really good from previous sets. Using a bones flat washer for the top bushing instead of the stock cup washer. Fits perfect and really keeps the wheelbite under control since I’m heavier.

i had the same experience.  Put my 159 hangers on Ace baseplates.  Kept the stock Ace bushings but had to switch Bones flat washer up top or else it was going to be too tight.  Haven't had a proper session yet but around the house they felt fine and now my wheels aren't sticking out like the 55s did.

wild guess, the old stock might have sold out in most shops and they don’t have the new stock yet?

Ace should be irrelevant as long as they support Vinnie fuckin' Banh.

Granted, but the amount of cringe-worthy Indy riders over the years would fill pages. I'd like to think Ace's more legit active pro's and legacy dudes offset the Banh....maybe?

The new guys are listed in the '19 spring catalog. Don't think they've updated the list on their site yet.

I started skating Aces like 6 years ago because I saw Gou Miyagi skating them. Such weird reasoning, but such a good decision!

Similar, saw Matt Town in Spirit Quest riding Aces a couple years ago. Was a nice confirmation they're not just for bowl guys.

I've noticed that many online skateshop are out of stock of the 44s. Maybe Ace is no longer supplying these because new stuff is coming?

Was this based on the fact the website was down for you? It was working for me the whole time. They've been pretty actively pushing their stuff on Instagram and definitely added some bigger names to their roster (objectively speaking). And their distribution is way bigger now than it used to be (since the split with Diamond). For a smaller specialized operation it looks like they're doing alright. I hope so anyway.

Forgive me because I know this would have been discussed way back but how are bones mediums in Ace’s? 44 specifically. I don’t really mind the stock bushings but do have some fresh bones sitting around somewhere. Quicker response? Deeper turning?

Ace bushings are kind of a weird size. I don't think the top bones would be a great fit especially since the top ace is kinda large. I don't know though, just try it. It would take like 10 minutes. But also, the new ace bushing are the best bushings (urethane formula wise) of all time, hands down.
