I've only had one set that I actually kept the stock bushings the whole time, they ended blowing out after about 3 months but I was starting to get to the axle anyway so I wasn't too bummed. I think they were v1s. Bones bushings will usually last me 3 or 4 sets of trucks though. I use the bones hard bushings with the bones washer on the bottom and the ace stock washer on top, and they feel good.

I skate V3’s and after reading all this washer clicking and bushing blowout stuff I have sort of an ocd where I have to check my bushings and pivot cups after every try, to see if they’ve blown out yet... Everything is good so far, everything stock and feels hella nice. Also, I ride mostly low impact stuff and tranny.

Having only skated 55s on 8.75s (which I loved), 44s felt pretty damn squirrelly at first. I was almost starting to regret the move from Thunder but it clicked today and I had a blast with them. Everything felt good.

Got a pair a couple months ago and wasn't 100% sold on them, dug them out a couple days ago and put washers from my Indys on to replace the stock washers and they're way better. I get why people like these now for sure.

The grind took a little getting used to, getting a crook groove going was the hardest part now but I'm back to normal.
Definitely gonna try and grind these to the axle.

I tried the new Ace aftermarkets with the Indy washers, too. Bones flats, no washers, etc. They just flop and get stuck when I push down on one side, no matter what. I just stick to Bones mediums with the flat washers for the bottom and top bushings, real snappy and back to center is always smooth.

I’m about to pass 14 months on my aces. I always been riding the stock bottom and a bones med top. I’m sure I stated before I focused.
I like my trucks floppy loose. The bones top feels like I get a better pop out of crooks than the stock. I’m on gen 1 aces

Curious, anybody running 55's on an 8.5 with good results? Some days the 44's feel a bit squirrely on an 8.5 and I've been thinking of making the jump up. Only dude I see running this size consistently is Shin Sanbongi and it doesn't look too monstertruck-ish, but it's hard to tell.

I didn't really like it to be honest, a little too clumsy and flip tricks felt difficult. Felt stable and cruisy though and was great for back 5050s on round rails but I definitely think the 55s should be reserved for ~8.62 and up. That being said if you skate transition and less techy stuff it could be good.

It doesn't look too monstertruck-ish as long as you have a decently full nose and tail, if the ends of your 8.5 are very tapered then it will probably look a bit monstertruck-ish.

I'm not too picky with sizes but I agree also. Yet 44s are feeling too small for me. something between 44 and 55 would be amazing. Long overdue... Anyone from Ace read this forum?

There's no winning when you're like that man

Forget yesterday, tomorrow won't feel like you want it to

Adapt to how the board feels right now and don't ask for more. It's already enough sliding by staying alive on these things some times

A couple of months ago, Ace posted a msg on their Instagram about new trucks coming (this fall?), and with new dimensions.

Also keep in mind that Aces provide more space along the axles to put your wheels. In terms of space between wheels, the 44s are actually more 8.25, and you can extend to 8.38 with washers. Same for the 55s, without washers it looks like a 8.75. They don't feel as big as you imagine.

Thunder 151’s are 8.75” axle to axle, yet the hanger is the same width as an Ace 55 which are 9” wide. Yes, Ace provide more axle space indeed.

Now that's interesting.

edit: took a look at the specs online (to be taken with a grain of salt I know), in keeping with Ace's usual sizing, the hanger of a 55 is right between an Indy 159 and 169 at around 6.35." I'm thinking I'll stick with 44's until maybe they release something in the new year.

Incorrect. Ace 55 hangers are about 162mm. You have to account for the way they taper and not just measure to the end of the wide point. Thunder 151s are closer to 156mm.

I lined up an Ace 55 hanger to a Thunder 151 at my local, they were exactly the same width.

I pulled off a set of 151s yesterday and set up a pair of 55s. The hanger on the 55s is wider... Not by much but it's enough.

The coned end to the 55s adds a good few mm.  I have both. 55s are closer in size to 169s.

Don't believe. Put the same wheels on each and see how much more they stick out.

Ace’s quality control isn’t great still, I’ve had hangers shorter than the other truck, axles off center with one side longer, etc all with the V3’s. My current 55’s one truck’s hanger is shorter. The set I lined up at the shop with the 151’s were 100% same width. Other results makes sense.

You should still try them. Diocletain has his opinion. Many others are stoked on them  and have had no issues. Go into a skate shop and check them out before you drop coin.
