Not surprising at all.

I think you'll be stoked on the sizes, Big Dave. Whereas my hope for a certain size might be dashed.

I hope so, I just want a straight 9" truck again in the new form. Looks like that may be the 66, but who knows.
ok thanks

I think that could be correct. But still no 8.75" axle?

Guess my 44/55 rotation will have to continue...

Prob going to atleast have an 8.5 in the new lineup, those would prob better than the current 44s on an 8.75.  But yeah the new 66s look like theyre def gonna be a straight 9.0 axle.

Yeah an 8.5" will be welcome for sure. I ride decks between 8.5 popsicles and 9.25 shaped boards and 159s/ 151s are the most versatile trucks for this range and my tastes... but I prefer Ace.

it would be nice to be able to commit to one truck size, as switching up trucks seems to have a more detrimental influence on my consistency than deck and wheel size.

I'd much rather get a 8.75 Ace than a 8.5, the current 44s are already pretty close to 8.5, while the 0.65" gap between 44s (8.35) and 55s (9.0) is a lot.

I agree, I would much prefer ace to put out an 8.75 truck instead of the 8.5 but it really looks like the sizing for the new af1s are going to be like this:
33 8.0 axle
44 8.25 axle
55 8.5 axle
66 9.0 axle

Also im assuming theres going to be a 77 in the new line thats going to be atleast over 9.2 wide

Pretty much my sentiments. I'd rather keep rotating 44s and 55s (or 55s and 66s) than switch, but an 8.75" truck seems like a no-brainer.

Then again, I definitely publicly accused 8.25" trucks of being ridiculous and unnecessary when they came out so what do I know.

Select shop out of Poland has the new AF line up on their site:

https://selectshop.pl/trucki-ace-af1-55-9-0-black

Seems to confirm nothing between 8.5" and 9", though they list the hangar on the new 9" 66 as a 6.1 (as opposed to the current 55 at 6.37) so maybe it's kind of a hybrid which could be pretty sick.

I think thats from the fact you have your trucks tightened all the way down not the trucks themselves. Def would recomend skating them stock looseness before tightening them down to such an extreme

If the 6.1" Hanger width is correct, I'm stoked. That's 155mm and more like a 159/ 151 size. Hanger width is more important anyway. The current 55s hangers are about 6.37" or 162mm for reference.

Perhaps the axles are longer for people to add washers?

@Frank and Fred that is what I am thinking based on the width and the fact that the translation of the shops IG post said that the new axles have extra threads. The description lists the board size range for the old ones but the 6.1 seems to be new info. Let's hope.

Nice! It looks like they didn't update the board sizes though. Also confirms the 77.

Assuming that these meaurements are legit, you could prob file or cut down the axles on the new 66 to make a perfectly legitimate 8.75 truck, very hyped

The height is listed as 52mm on that website. I don't think geometry has been altered at all so wheelbase should be the same.

For what it’s worth, the last set of 33s I had did the whole bushing popping out thing no matter how loose I had them (top and bottoms). To the point where if I didn’t land dead center, they’d pop out and wouldn’t rebound straight leading to me stepping off of a lot of tricks. I had to replace the top and bottom washers with some spare venture washers I had laying around. That instantly fixed it.

Edit* those trucks are offensively tight my man haha let them breathe a little 😀

I tried 55’s on a 8.5 and wasn’t stoked on the axle being noticeably wider than the board. I’m on 44’s and a 8.38 with SF Classics now. It is the absolute perfect setup.

Saving the 55’s for a cruiser/car board I’m building

the bushing pop out is super annoying, and it happens to everyone at first

try to push it back in with a house key

and if it doesn't work, take note of where your thread is at
and take that shit off and reset it.

the key is to skate them for about 2 weeks.  they'll stop doing it.

What I'm getting is that the Ace 44 Classic hanger width has been reduced from 5.75" to 5.5" . In the meanwhile the AF1 55's have an axle width of 5.7". This would mean the AF1 55's are identical to the current 44's, maybe the axles reach out a bit further to make them 8.5. That's interesting because I already find Ace axles to reach out quite a bit from the nut. This is just based on the dimensions they have on the website. Wish they had the weight of the trucks listed as well to confirm the theory.
