i think i have to just try them. i think am going to run the Ace Hard bushings. I just run the standard stock bushings on my indy's and i like it. my friend actually suggested i try the bones Extra Hard bushings, i think he said they were 99a. I actually ride the indy fairly loose like only 1 thread down so maybe i can just tighten it to like 1.5 threads on Ace and go from there. that is the only way to truly know if you liek it better.

Looks like hollow everything is happening soon.

Can’t believe it took this long to make this happen… now I’m not even sure if I want them anymore.

Really wish they would have just iterated on the classics. A lighter 44 classic would be so ideal.

I don't think you will need to change the bushings on your Aces to be honest. The default bushings are just fine tighter (unless you are a heavier-set guy, then maybe the hards would be worth it)... but just as a reminder: just like with any new trucks, ride on them loose for a while for (a session or two) to wear them in before cranking the truck tightness to where you like it.

To clarify, the point of my reply was essentially to suggest: just stick with Indys if that's what you're comfortable with. The two of them aren't terribly different all things considered. While I personally prefer Ace at this point in my skating, I'm also pretty trash these days. If my main goal was to continue progressing, I would say its more important to just stick with a setup you enjoy than messing with things like (in this case) your truck height.

That being said, I'm not going to talk someone out of buying Aces... they are great, and they lived up to the hype for me. The only major downside for me is they are very heavy (but so are Indy Standards) and its a bit more difficult to set up tricks on them at times.

If you like intentionally carving back and forth rather than just skating forward, you will love these trucks. I've always done that, and these make it so much more enjoyable with how they help you rebound back from a turn.
Skateboarding is the ultimate challenge.

The truth!! I can't ride without wheelbite on regular Ace stock bushings.  I get the hard bushings and I get the turn and the buttery grind I love with Aces!  I am hooked on the soft grind of Aces...so satisfying.   8)

I have my AF1 55s set with hard bushings and i find the stability to be perfect while still getting a great turn. if you’re considering the switch from indy to ace that’s the route i’d go!

I also find Af1s with Ace hard bushings to be the perfect match.
They're stable but turn very well. It seems the hard bushings are little taller than Af1 stock bushings?  :o

Did anyone else see Ace story announcing the AF1 hollows?

Shipping to shops now and sounds like they aren’t going to allow online sales until 9/12?

On my phone at happy hour or else I would screenshot

As a weight whore, reading 'each truck is an ounce lighter' doesn't get me excited...now 28.3495 grams...that's more exciting :P

So what is the weight on the af1 66 and 77? They don’t seems to have those listed anywhere from my rather cursory googling.

Wait a minute, they advertised the AF1 lows as being 33g lighter than standard AF1s. Which wasn't even true, but how are these heavier now?

Perhaps the low plate has less material?

I'm just going by 1oz < - > grams but yeah, the low weight wasn't close to accurate and I don't expect the AF1s to be either. Either way, a lighter ACE.

416g and 431g for standard AF1s, skatedeluxe.com is a great source for that information, they measure and weigh all their stuff.

I had my Aces set up somewhat loose and then the temperature dropped 10 degrees F tonight and my trucks were tight and stable like you could get with cranked Indys. No need to be concerned about the trucks being too loose—like others have said.

Anyone got hands on the hollows yet?

I have an unused set of anodized AF1 60s I might see if I can trade for hollows at the local.

Don't know about 66 and 77, but my 44 and 55 weigh exactly as much as skatedeluxe says, so I generally trust them about that stuff.
Hollows haven't hit europe yet it seems

I just picked up a pair of AF1 66 Hollow Polished.

They weigh 386 grams with washers and without the little red re-threading nuts.

Well, one of them weighs 387g, but yeah, I’m not going to think about that one too hard…back truck? Kidding.

Happy Madness, everyone.

I think awh distro posted some promo on the new hollows. if i remember right it was like 8 percent lighter. they advertised it around 365~ or so. don’t remember which model, but under ten percent change in weight…i think i’ll pass just to keep my madness in check

If they're not out in 60s, that's me out. I'm not super concerned. I've never tried hollow anything before (except the Krux kingpins).
