I can see why lurpivs were so tall. Damn he really does not want wheelbite. The wheels don't even look that big.

Skating af1 44 on 8.38 board.... Will it be bad? Would 55 be better??

AF1 44s will be completely fine.  If you can get your hands on some classics 44s though… perfection

They would be stupid not to.

But theres a chance he is working on lurpiv in the background, so he could just be buying ACE's in the meantime. Would be some pretty sick free advertising for them lol

I feel like an ACE sticker on his board would basically confirm he is back on or getting them for free at least.

From the comments of the hollow bolts post, when asked about mag baseplates:
"mags are tough but, we got some tougher stuff in the works. ✔️"

Diamond baseplates 100% confirmed

Could explain the tall risers. Just trying to keep the lurpiv feeling until he's back on them.

He ran risers on lurps too, idk if they were 1/4" though like in this pic.

He for sure ran the aces with 1/4"in the past

Filip and Karsten seem to be still running Lurpivs. Vincent had lurpivs in 1 clip in the new Jante video

Interested in the AF1 hollows but last time I tried hollow trucks (Venture 5.6 forged hollow) I hated em because they made my sound and feel like shit. Anyone on the Ace hollows able to comment on how they feel compared to the classics/normal AF1s?

i'm also anxiously awaiting the hollow 60s. I left a comment on one of their recent ig posts asking for an ETA but they didn't respond
For anyone else looking, the AF1 hollow 60s are now in stock at the Ace webstore so that means they should hopefully be rolling out to shops soon

are the hollows a different height on Aces to the standards ?
my friend was saying that on Indys the hollows are a bit lower than the standard ones, and thunder also has different heights too.

Should be the same ! They actually feel the same but didn't measure.

Forged baseplates are lower. Ace does NOT have forged baseplates, so hollows and standard are the same height

Decided to get the lows and hated how they felt compared to my standard AF1s. Hadn't skated hollow kingpins maybe ever and my setup felt like a toy or something...sounded weird. Put my old baseplates together with the new hangers and now I have some weird hybrid and the geometry feels off — manuals feel bad. Probably just gonna grab a new set of AF1s and maybe some hard bushings...been liking the squirrelly-ness but feel like my skating could benefit from a little more strutured feel

I've gone fully back to Classics and have to say I love them more than ever. I still have Af1s in 55 and 66 but can't see going back any time soon. I think the Classics just fit my needs better. Hopefully there will be 8.75 Classics sometime.

The baseplate and bushings are the only difference on the lows, so if you used standard bushings you just made a standard af1

Throw some 1/8" risers underneath the lows and they're essentially a classic with the geometry since the wheelbase is a little shorter than the AF1 hi's.

I bought some 66 af1's and the bearings wouldn't fit on the axle at first. Like, it went right on and past all the threads then stopped short and stuck at the smooth part of the axle. Dude at the shop said "oh this happens all the time" and banged em on. I have never seen anything like that before, however I don't really buy new trucks for years at a time. Anyone else ever had an axle that seemed like mm too thick until you beat it into submission?
