Pretty much. Its an odd stereotype, like watermelon. Who doesn't like that shit? I hear black people are always breathing air and drinking water too.
The chicken one comes from the fact that African Americans invented American style fried chicken, and were the only ones who would eat it for a while. During this point, the black people and friend chicken stereotype was created. Then everybody else realized why black people ate it, and started eating it themselves, still, the stereotype stuck.
