That's fucked up. Jamie MADE Chris Cole who he is, and now he has to give him part of the company he sweated for? I bet Cole threatened to leave if he didn't get more money, and this was Jamies only way of keeping him.

I hate Chris Cole, his style sucks, he does the worst trick, and hes overall a fucking dork and apparently a greedy bastard.

Exactly, I dont care about being the next Chris Cole kid, he has been one of my favourites since In Bloom, and its great to see that he is so loyal to Zero, cause board sponsor is where is at, no matter what shoes you wear.

That's the way I see it too. I hope stuff like that won't affect Blackbox in a bad way. Thomas really made a good distribution on his own and I'd hate too is see it go under because of such "forced" decisions...

I used it as a joke, some dudes were saying after his DC deal, that he is going to go to Plan B next.  Nothing serious really, I just liked how it sounded.

I doubt it was a money thing. I mean blackbox houses some of the most successful brands in skateboarding, Jamie Thomas has made a shitload off of them, I doubt this was "the only" way they could keep cole.

How I see it-He left Fallen, got on DC, got some juicy signing bonus and used it to buy shares at Zero

It's probably mutually beneficial. Cole's got a lot of money from last year's contests. All hardgoods brands are hurting. He gets a place to invest his money and a long term company to ride for and Zero gets a financial shot in the arm. win win

i doubt cole made any actual threats of leaving.  his contract was probably up and JT asked what he wanted.  they went back and forth and came to an agreement.

loyalty in skateboarding is rare these days whether its pros, sponsors as well as every day skaters.

coles got a family so i don't blame the guy for wanting to make more money. babies can't eat respect. and this is probably one of the smartest moves ever, i look at this as an insurance plan for when he's not in his prime anymore.

SHUT THE FUCK UP. This dude is already a millionaire, babies don't fucking cost millions of dollars you idiot.

How many other pros out there are getting ownership in the companies they ride for? Even Prod doesn't have the balls to ask for that shit. Maybe he simply bought his way into the company, but I wouldn't be surprised if Jamie felt he had to do this to keep him from leaving.

coles been around longer and hes been a part of zero since he first came up.
when i think of zero, i think of cole.  when i think of cole, i think of zero.
it would only make sense that he would try to get/buy a stake in a company he helped build.

p-rod is still young and he has also jumped from sponsor to sponsor.
when i think of nike, i don't think of p-rod, when i think of plan b, i don't think of p-rod.
p-rod hasn't really help build anything yet.

Instead of take salary from both Zero and Fallen, why not take salary from DC and put it back into Blackbox?

Well, P Rod isnt much younger, maybe 2 or 3 years I guess, But you are right, he doesnt define any company he skates for, and Cole is really a synonyme for Zero+only dude who has been on Zero longer except Jamie is probably John Rattray, and I dont see him as a bussines man.

It was a shitty alternative to getting paid, though.
