I easily rate this over the Cardiel series. Such a good watch, so well structured and every single clip of Kalis was amazing.

Never blew it, never sold out, never embarrassed himself, never fucked up. One of the best.

(Also, I hope this series brings back a b/s flip resurgence in skating. Seriously, done right, that has to be the best trick in skating)

Josh was a huge influence on my skateboarding growing up, I attempted to copy his style, and trick selection, and his parts always got me hyped. ? It has been so awsome to watch him mature with his career, wild out a bit, but always seems to stay grounded, progress with his skateboarding, and always keeps it street.
THese episodes have been nothing but awsome.

I'm not totally into the fact that Later'd seems to somehow have become the official record of skateboarding history rather than an idiosyncratic and uneven, but interesting production. At the same time though, that's what skateboarding needed, so it grew to fill the niche. And all that shit aside, who couldn't fucking love Kalis after all that. Every trick he does is fucking gold. I'm personally into a lot of the gay shit that I'm sure he hates on, but it's only because purists like him exist that skating hasn't completely gone off the rails.

I'm gonna be honest. I was always kinda iffy about Kalis. I never hated him, but I wasn't really a fan, you know?

But watching this series has upped my respect for him a ton. I'm stoked on Josh now.

I really enjoyed this series. I've always been a big fan of Kalis since around 1995-1996, I remember wanted to dress like him and Dyrdek I had DC's and swishy pants, camos from sunny's surplus. I remember being psyched and going out and getting his first pro model when it first came out, the grey ones with the green DC logo...so sick. His sexth sense part remains my favorite part from him, this is back when if someone had a transworld part it was their best part.

Even though I talk shit on Dyrdek mainly because of frustration I have because of what his place in skateboarding has become, I have to give credit where it is due, he is 100% accurate in describing Kalis. He has never changed and is a very real dude, and was one of the raddest pro's you'll ever meet. I have to commend Dyrdek for admitting that he is "upriver"(where the fish come easier?) and that Kalis should no be associated with that, this makes me feel like Dyrdek does still get it.

Funny to think, watching these episodes and getting a good background of Kalis's childhood, quitting skating, mental institutions, sketchy street kid it's amazing how he turned into and remains to be one of the best examples of a professional skateboarder. I'm glad Stevie pointed that out.

Fucking great series....Pat O'Dell killed it with that one.

I can tell Kalis must be a real cool guy just because of how Stevie talks about him. When he said we don't talk much on the phone because we're like brothers, I can relate to that with a few of my good friends. Anyway not to get soppy great fucking series and even though I don't skate DGK decks I may have to grab a Kalis deck for the wall. Keep doing what you do Josh!
