Skated for the first time in over 2 months today. It's -7 here (+19 US temp).. but it was finally dry enough to go out. Did a dozen kickflips in my driveway then I pretty much couldn't breathe anymore so I came inside.

Haha - totally feel ya. I went out for a flatground sesh today since there were finally a few dry spots & it was "only" 17 degrees. It had been 2 weeks, which for me is an eternity, & after an hour of kickflips & shove-its & various 180s I was finally feeling maybe 50% warmed up.

This east coast shit ain't for the meek, that's for sure...

skated my mini for the first time in over 3 months. Been out w/back problems. I was stoked. It was 65 here yesterday. Today it's currently 27 and they're calling for 4 to 8 inches of snow. Gotta love the NC.

I've always struggled to understand bonelesses my whole life but today while playing xbox I randomly started thinking about bonelesses and finally felt I understood how to do them. I immediately got up and started trying stationary ones in my room and all my misunderstandings regarding that trick disappeared. I've done about 5 bonelesses onto my bed tonight.

Skated with some friends on their homemade box/manual pad today. Relearned half-cab to back 50-50, and almost had half-cab to back 5-0. Found a traffic cone that was about waist high (on me) and skated over that for a bit. All in all, had a pretty fun day considering I spent the majority of it at work.

met a group of breakdancers right after a friend o mine had a car wilson and chipped his board he was kinda bummed but this cheered him up. sometimes its the cultural aspects and energy trades with different groups rather than shredding it up

Landed a buch of stuff and really wasn't 'thinking' a lot. I find that kind of skating really relaxing. Therapy.

parking garage w/ my buddy, his kid and his brother. had some coffee, skated some flatbar then we broke into the basement and jimmyrigged our pyramid. pretty typical night but good to see the next generation improving too, ollieing the pyramid after his dad. had that 'shakira shakira' song in my head all night too, i'm stoked on that for some reason.

An old skate buddy of mine told me about a nearby diy spot he worked on that we should hit up. It's a basketball court in the summer.. but since it's far below freezing here, it's currently an ice hockey rink. So I particularly enjoyed skating in my barely worn Reebok Pumps from Canadian Tire and playing some 2 on 2.

went to the band rooms on a lark and enjoyed skating in the heat while heavy metal rumbled in the adjacent rooms. smooth floors, our flatbar and a natural incline made me feel like we were fred gall and ricky o in that underground philly spot from the 90s. there were drunk band whores too, one of em making cat noises.

got to do one of my dream tricks at the band rooms tonight. i ollie over a sideways trashcan onto a flatbar 5050 like ben kadow going over a bench to grind the armrest. that was dope as crap and being able to skate indoors free on a snowy day in general.

skating outside in daylight and not being cold. a little brown pole fun at aubrey plaza, wormtown's finest spot. checking out a little waterfall next to the spot, filming the unit of a Providence and Worcester railroad train and some black guy offered me his blunt. i declined but my buddy's brother hit it. i said 'nah thanks but i appreciate the offer' then back to grinding the pole.

I was bummed all day that the weather rainy and colder, especially since it was so beautiful yesterday.

Anyways I pulled up Evernote and compiled a bunch of screen captures of easy tricks i should try next time I am skating, I can pull them up on my phone when I am taking a breather during my sessions. Its a little cheesy but I am stoked on it.
