I like Darkthrone. A Blaze in the Northern Sky, Under a Funeral Moon and Panzerfaust are sick cd's. Haven't heard any of their new stuff but their old stuff is great.

lesser known fact: Jef Whitehead (of Leviathan) used to be a pro skateboarder and is actually the guy in the photo on that old skate or die 2 nintendo NES game. both an insanely talented artist/musician who plays all the instruments as well as produces all of his albums. apparently he drew the Thunder trucks logo which he sold to them back in 1991 for $50. he's done some stuff for other companies over the years, too (see below). he talks about all of this around 4:50 in the video below. he is still making art and still working doing tattoos as far as i can tell.

**just found out that i guess him and Julien are old friends going back to the 80's, Julien wrote a bit about it you can see here in this pic of the boards that Jef did for them not that long ago

That one man metal video series was cool but really pigeonholed those guys. Xasthur to me is my jam. Jef during the parts where he’s at home you can tell he’s high as kite on H. I admire the resilience of these guys’ but noisey and Vice tell a one sided narrative that doesn’t give much for error almost 10 years later.

for me I write a lot of bullshit and journaling mainly about pulp fiction to creepypastas and black metal helps out a lot. For example I am working on a piece/story about how me and my partner almost being abducted by some sketchy Native American in Blackfeet/Crow agency of SD MT area and I find this music  Wedard a good representation of how me and my partner felt during that time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFUh-jBKtq4

A certain theme I have noticed especially when I go deep in my rabbithole of emotions and reflect, I see false hope clouded with I hate saying this victimhood as I do have a no means no fuck off attitude, as I get older I tolerate less and less bullshit as I'd rather be alone and content with my small circle instead of letting outside influences get under my skin. To hell with letting outsiders in my circle, I'll be civil but that's as far I trust anyone.

https://youtu.be/UaEaEIfKo70
Another great tune to just cruise on a bike or board to. Ideals of maintaining and holding onto friendships that have long since gotten stale and futile are why I find myself in a contradiction of wanting to be sociable/have a yearning to find a new friend, but soon thereafter it's either myself who assumes this or there's a vibe that I am not good enough. Doesn't matter if I have the skills or can show how it's done I'll never be good enough to be taken seriously. So instead of fighting I just leave and write more bullshit.

Here's something I really really like not black metal but damn if they aren't channeling the Autopsy and Repulsion as of recently.

Thantifaxath is a great black metal band from Canada. Super dissonant, bleak sounding, and with really good production value.

There's something I don't like Bout this dickheads reviews of bands as he might know quite abit of history but a skewed perspective as to his interpretations of the music, Darkthrone has definitely put out some less then savory albums but what he trashes Fenriz later crustier albums were gold to me as they were great albums.

I watched the Lords of Chaos movie this week. I read the book, watched the documentary, and felt like I needed to see the movie even though I didn't really want to. I surprisingly enjoyed it. It was definitely a little on the light hearted side and kind of goofy...considering that the subject matter wasn't all that "light." But at the end I still found myself liking it. I read somewhere that Varg and Fenriz basically told the people who made it to fuck off when asked if they wanted to be a part of it / have their music in the movie as well, haha.

Ummm despite me liking Burzum I abhor Varg and his politics, he has a D&D game out also he believes the master race or Norse people were aliens that inhabited the Scandinavian continents, or something absurdly untrue. I wanted to watch it as well but I cannot stand anything VICE does not for their bs pandering just it’s skewed and exploitive, I punked out someone who was working with Vice for their jacket, he asked me what’s the deal with taxing someone, I said give me your Carhartt jacket and I said are you going to fight me for it?! No? Yeah that’s taxing someone.
