Pre-oredered the 3DS for my son for his birthday. I told him he had to share it with me so I could play Zelda 3d at night when he goes to bed. He agreed. haha..  Anyone else planning on getting one?

Im probably going to wait a few months, the only game I'll actually play is Ocarina of Time, maybe some StarFox 64 or mario kart 3d

There are no good launch titles though, at least none that interest me, and the good games are supposedly not out until Fall 2011

Looks pretty good though, interested to see how the 3D slider works, we'll have a demo at work to try

The DS imo is the best console out in this generation, the best games, best variety, best gimmicks. The 3ds has big shoes to fill.

i am still 100% satisfied with my regular DS... I felt like the touch screen was going to ruin it but they implemented it SO well. It's pretty old now and I think they are still slowly making games for it. It is really a great system; In this era where games are all about graphics and gimmicks, it allows for SNES-type play again (and a  lot of great SNES remakes!) Taking it to the 3d thing seems a bit overdoing it but we'll see. the type of gamer that I am, I personally can't see it adding to my experience as a gamer. I am really into RPG and strategy so I feel like 3DS just dresses up games that are not good but they sell cause they are unique or innovative to the way you play them.

Took my son to the midnight launch at the local Game Stop. I wish I had taped it because he started screaming and flailing when we walked out of the store with it. Reminded me of this kid.
YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

So far I really like it. We bought Pilot Wings Resort and Street Fighter. I haven't even played either game that much yet. There is a bunch of fun stuff packaged with the system right out of the box.

The Augmented Reality cards were really fun. They are playing cards that you lay down on a table, then point the camera at the cards and the screen converts the table into a playing field. Dragons come blasting out of the tables, etc... really fun. There are (I think) 8 different games you can play with those cards.

Face Raiders is another fun packaged app. You take a picture of your face, it turns your face into a flying creature with a propeller on it's head, then you walk around the house and shoot your face/creature out of the air. My kids were going nuts for this one.

The 3d camera is fun to play with. I didn't test it out outside yet. I want to see what it can do with action shots, but I took some cool pics of my kids and puppy with it. The 3d effects were great and the 3d slider lets you fine tune the depth of the 3d.

Speaking of 3d. I am prone to getting headaches and motion sickness from 3d, so I didn't use it too much.. just in small bursts. But the 3d does work really nice. 3d street fighter looked pretty awesome.

I give it two thumbs up. It's a big improvement over the DS Lite and DSi. My only complaint is that they made the screen smaller again. It's the size of a DS lite... which pisses me off because you know they're going to come out with a 3dsXL in a year just to get more of my money... which I'm sure they will.

I tried some of those Augmented Reality cards, really fucking cool

Netflix announced they are going to be streaming 3D movies to the 3DS now, I watched some music video in 3D on it, looks good, but yea the screen size sucks

The "analog" stick is so awesome, easily the best part about it, hopefully no more DS Stylus for Zelda games

I play my DS lite all the time, probably more than any other system.
I'm interested in checking the 3DS out, it sounds pretty nifty.

My purchase time coinciding with Zelda hasn't changed, but it's 100% I'll buy it. Paper Mario, Mario Kart, Starfox, Super Monkey Ball (It was the mother fucking shit on gamecube), ANIMAL CROSSING, and Zelda OoT? All to be played where ever the fuck I choose? Fagedaboutit.

Played Pilotwings on a demo one today, fucking awesome.  I love me some Pilotwings, so come Ocarina time, i'm fuckin IN!    If I can find the money...  I'm worried for nintendo, the iphone is fucking them hard, lucky they banked about a quatrillion dollars from the DS & Wii.

The Wii 2 / Cafe / Stream console seems pretty rad though.

Got one for my birthday last week. Kinda feel bad now that they JUST announced the price drop.

But that aside, it's fucking sweet, and OoT looks incredible.

I think with the 3DS price drop later this month, it sure will be a whole lot more enticing.

Just a heads up, Wal Mart is dropping the price on the 9th, so you can get the 3DS for cheap, and the free games.

Nearly one year later, I'm still very stoked on the 3DS

Especially with the first party games that came out and the Circle Pad Pro

Titles I'm playing

Resident Evil Revelations
Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater
Mario 3D Land
Mario Kart 7
Zelda OOT

Soon to be Mario Tennis and Rayman Origins
