ok so today i set up my new REAL deck cuz i was going to a sk8park. and the grip was fine, intill i started to skate. it like started to peel. and like come apart and turn grey.

Has this ever happen to any of u guys before? And do u guys have any guesses on why or how it happened?

haha nah. after i started crusin around, doing a couple of baby ollies, it started to peel away. This suck cuz i swear that i got ocd and if my board isnt prefect it bugs the holy shit out of me!

This has happened to me, I think its just because it was mid summer and hot as fuck, so it wouldn't stick that great.

it was around 70. but my brother was skating a new deck too but it was perfectly fine

You probley didnt sand your grip on the edges properly if at all.

The exact same thing happened to one of my boards 3 months ago. It was Jessup aswell.
Its like there's no backing to the grip.

I haven't skated Jessup since so I don't know if its still like that. I guess it was a bad batch or something.

Same here. Set up a deck w/ Jessup last month. In my new-deck excitement, I did forget to sand the edges, but got around to it after 1/2 hour. By the end of the session, the edges looked like they were disolved.

I had the same problem too last summer with a sheet of jessup. Within the first few minutes of skating the sides started to chip and peel away, just like the picture above. Not only that, but I saw that a ton of other dudes at the park who had jessup on their boards had their griptape peeling like that too. I called the shop and they told me that it was just a bad batch of jessup and they threw it all out. Had to regrip my board and everything, couldnt stand looking down at my board and seeing the grip all fucked up. After that I just stuck with mob and shop brand grip, didnt want to risk putting jessup on my board and having it fuck up again.

I actually just got a board a day or two ago and put jessup on it, first time skating it again since last summer when the whole bad batch mishap happened. Havent gotten a chance to skate the board yet. Hopefully it doesnt start peeling and chipping away on me again.

Yeah, jessup just aint what they used to be. The quality of their grip has really gone down the drain.

i got a box from jessup.. and like every sheet of grip was doing this. it sucked. been on jessup so long. i can't remember. never been a problem
i emailed them and sent them photos. they got right back. there was apparently a bad patch. a big bad patch. and they had to basiclly purge their warehouse. then they sent me another box of tape for free... so i would hit them up.
but yeah i had the problem. its super lame

Ive been always skating jessup, for what I can remember and this never happend to me.. But once I nad a Black Diamond grip, because it was free, and this happend after five minutes of skating.

from what io have heard one of the higher ups at jessup left, and then the gri[ started getting thinner and shittier. working at a shop grip would split when you are trying to lay it from nose to tail. then after a few days huge chunks would spiderweb off. we stopped carrying jessup now and only do mob.
