Montreal also <3's riots

http://www.viceland.com/blogs/en/2010/05/13/montreal-also-hearts-riots/

much gnarlier history of rioting in terms of sports fanatics! (and rock concerts)

I'm Canadian and I find this hockey pride/worship fucked in the head. I liked skating because I hated the hockey nuts in little school.

This shit is just sad to watch. I love how people in the "mob mentality" would fuck up other people's property, but if they were all alone, they wouldn't do shit. Real classy.

This was bound to happen with that many jocks in one place.  It sucks for the innocent people that got hurt.  One thing that's lame these days is that most people should have left, but just had to pose for pics in front of a burning car to look cool on Facebook or Twitter.

Some super stupid comments in this thread. There was going to be a riot win or lose, there's screencaps on facebook from the days before where people are planning/recruiting other people. Guys had molotov cocktails and bags full of crowbars. It had nothing to do with hockey. If they hadn't of allowed any bro's or guys wearing tapout type shit, almost none of it would have happened.

If it was the states (or anywhere else really) people would have died. I didn't hear about anyone with guns, and only a little bit of knives.

Also, all this politically correct 'great job boston/we're happy for you' is almost as bad ad the rioters. Fuck boston. Fuck next year. We blew it.don't be happy about it.
I;m sure i;m not the only dc/monster/subaru type guy here

It bothers me so much that the police keep trying to frame this as an organized action by the black block. If you look at the video/pictures going back right to the very beginning it's 99.9% obnoxious bros in their late teens and early twenties perpetrating most of the violence, and the whole thing started with bottle throwing and fist fights, not exactly militant anarchist tactics. Aside from a few crusties caught on tape breaking windows I don't see much evidence to support all the bullshit being spewed by the vpd and then regurgitated on the news. Although the first few car fires did start suspiciously quickly, every one I've seen on video began with kids throwing  in burning jerseys or newspapers. Either way it's not like the black block have a monopoly on gasoline or on mindless destruction. There's more than enough idiocy in this city and its surrounding areas for something like this to happen and anyone that claims to be surprised about it given the type of shit that happens downtown every weekend is a fool.

I wonder what would've happened if someone walked up and it was really their car getting destroyed. Would people turn and move onto the next car, or would they just sit there and assault the owner?

heres your answer

someone find that man and get him a case of beer.

edit - I'm so curious as to how legal it would be to just hop in and start mowing down motherfuckers if it were your truck. vehicular manslaughter is definitely a probability, but if guys were curb-stomping you and trying to set your shit on fire I wonder how well self defense would hold up in court.

Please tell me its not as bad as it seems.
This thread is just highlighting the worst right?
In all the clips its just small ass kids. I dont understand why people are just letting this happen. Id go there just to start fighting these people. It wouldnt solve anything but theres gotta be alot of people pissed at these assholes.

Sucker punch you, pepper spray you, stab you, which is exactly what happened to people trying to fight and stop the rioters, example that guy defending the truck getting jumped by 15 people, its not isolated groups of 5 or 10 people, it was pockets of hundreds of liquored up retards

Some of the rioters are absolute fucking morons. Posting facebook statuses of shit they stole and how they knocked cops etc. Theres been more than 100 arrests and with so much video and photos flooding in theres gonna be more.

Found him. Jason Li. You're right - dude got taken down in front of everybody at his high school. I guess his facebook statuses posted about how the riots were awesome and then everybody gave him shit, so he started posted against them.

Skateboarders put some grind and slide mark on some ledges for art/fun/exercise, not quite the same as destroying a stores/cars/city for no reason.
