Am I not driving fast enough, or are people that distracted that they don't realize how close they're tailing you. I figured 5 over would be good enough but lately it seems not.

Distracted habit. Speed almost doesn’t matter. A certain percent of the population just match the speed of the car in front of them and follow too close. They’re not even thinking-total auto pilot. I’ve definitely pulled some of these magnetic bumper types up to 20 over in a 55 by just repeatedly bumping up the cruise over several minutes.

That makes sense, most cars' top gear hits around 3000 RPM around 60 mph.  Having the engine above that generally means lower economy.

I am just milking it at my job and kinda feel bad
I could probably try to do more and maybe make a bit more money, but I am kinda lazy. I like when people are like "hey i have this thing for you to work on can you do it asap." and i get it done straight away then chill. i am good at that. give me the scariest thing that no one else wants to do... ill do it. i do all these sketchy forklift jobs for people all the time lol. have had so many close calls.  I am not good at creating my own work though.

 I always wanted a job where I could just hide and do nothing, and now I have it, I am kinda bored of it. Thinking about getting into something else possibly but its scary.

I make enough money I can own a house + pay for everything, fairly comfortable, any money my wife makes goes to savings but now its kinda messed with this rone dog running so rampant. might have to consider taking 2 kids out of school in a few months - its probably fairly realistic that will happen.

not sure what i should do. have been just working on this skate video and trying to do a lot of reflecting but its still not really clear to me what i should do next. I have been trying to just spend as much time with my wife + kids as possible and just enjoying skating and online video games. its like, do i really need to get more ahead? do i need to change anything? should my wife quit her job in the winter / take a leave of absense to teach the kids when covid gets bad again? will just have to wait and see.

Probably not an original thought but:

It’s crazy how all of our memories and thoughts are just some particular assortment of chemicals and electric pulses sloshing away in our brain…. That they are an actual, physical thing that exists and takes up space and has mass.

So somewhere in there, there’s some little cul de sac of neurons (or whatever it is) that allows me to remember the gnarly, hairy mole on my 2nd grade teacher’s face.  And another for watching my father drunkenly desecrate a Native American grave site.

I’m not some brain researcher, so I really don’t know what the fuck I’m talking about and might be making a bunch of wrong assumptions.  But if all that shit I said was true, and if memories are at least partially made up of regular old atoms, does that mean that a memory weighs something?  How many memories would a large Scandinavian gentleman have to deadlift on ESPN2 to win the title of world’s strongest man?  If someone memorizes a bunch of shit, will they get a heavy-ass head?  Is anyone still reading this?

Here in New England my favorite pizza joints almost always have pictures of Greece on the wall.  When you see a picture of Mykonos with ultra-white buildings on a hill you have found your pizza joint.  Not too thin, not too thick, a bit of sweetness in the sauce and just the right amount of grease.

Other thought for the day….plant DNA and human DNA are made from exactly the same stuff.
