OIAM NYC Finalist: Nate Rojas
« on: September 01, 2011, 01:26:29 PM »
i have definitely seen this kid before. second clip at the b-banks was in some line contest if i remember correctly. we have a contender
and he's from brooklyn..  so he's got a lot on his shoulders in this comp - yer the dude from new york who has skated every one of these spots - no pressure

Kid's gnar! I hope other entrants aren't bummed that he got to sneak a longer clip in there!

The gap he bigspins at 2:21 is super close to where I lived in Florida. Kinda shocked to see that in the footage of someone not from the area.

are you kidding me? shitty-ass style, handrail chomper, gear-crisis. this kid is an average park rat in the streets. just putting him and the last dude in the same category is absurd!

hes very different from the last guy for sure - but i wouldnt call him a "rail chomper" -- he's got a pretty sizeable bag-o-tricks it seems.

that being said - obviously the previous entry was the best by far..  if this contest was x-games real street format we would have our winner already.. and it wouldnt be this kid.  cant wait for this thing to start

you make a valid point.
but NOTHING in this made surprised me. at least the ledge dancing dudes did some stuff that made me say 'wow', this was generic, boring and all around un-impressive. every town has 100 kids like this. my point is, this kid is definitely not OIM material by any means.

Looks like he got the big flip... no problem.  ;D  That lead up line to the crook at Brooklyn Banks was disgusting.

He doesn't seem like the typical New York skater. But then again, I don't personally know what a typical New York skater skates like, so I guess that doesn't mean much. Bigspins are getting a little bit overdone, in my opinion. This guy had a million of 'em in his part.

last i heard dude was emerica bones and zoo flow. i know he has it pretty good with emerica considering he had tricks in the bro flow section of stay gold. and i feel like he had some clips in a bones monday video or something.

I've definitely seen that BB line somewhere before.

Maybe Slap was scrambling to get a skater from NY into the contest and that's why his clip is different (longer) than the others.

Whitley did a great job hosting last seasons.  Now that he's no longer with Slap, who's gonna be doing it this year?  They should get Puleo.

"alright, no-one can skate any of these spots except Nate, since you're not from NY. Oh, and you're all faggots."
Look I'm not selling anything that doesn't have my jizz on it. I don't care how much is offered.

True. Really curious how he going to respond to New York's rugged ground.
