is there some stock market tutorial? just luck? im only 16% thru the game so i may not have got there yet.
Buy and sell stocks on the internet. Things you do in the world will affect the market to your advantage.

Lester gives Franklin missions that involve playing the stock market. If you save them until after you complete the main storyline, you can make a shitload of money. The main reason for waiting is that you'll have a lot of money after the main story, and therefore can invest more during the Lester missions.

sharks in this game is rockstar's way of forming a boundary around the island.  They're wusses,  one knife slash will kill em

It's a crap shoot. It's usually a little bite at first, then in for the kill after that. The kill is like a little cutscene animation and there's nothing you can do about it. I know people have killed them, but most times you'll die.

The mountain lions are pretty much the same as in Red Dead, function wise. You'll hear it roar, not know where it's coming from, and then you're dead. They go down with one shot though. You have to go pretty far up into the mountains to find them.

when i encountered a mountain lion, when it roared its location appeared on my radar as a red dot. was pretty simple to see and kill in time.

When I found a shark I had to TRY to get him to eat me. I kept trying to punch him to no avail.

Finished it today.. Bought it on Saturday, and haven't been playing really hard.

I think the thing is that the side missions mostly sucked balls, so I haven't really done any of them except for a few. The story missions are mostly ok, but I really miss an option to go on a lot more heists instead of the 3 or 4 in the storyline. And it sucks that you have to start a new game to be able to try out different options, meaning that to be able to try out the other solution on the final heist requires a lot of bullshit playtime instead of just allowing the player to simply restart that heist.

Hopefully MP is good, because SP was pretty thin and not really a 9/10.

^ if you goto the pause menu and select game theres an option to replay all the missions you've completed already. im pretty sure you can re-do the heists with a different approach because ive heard that being mentioned in multiple reviews

Anybody else spot bigfoot during the mission where you're in the helicopter sniping the inbred hillbilly drug gang? i spotted him in the thermal vision, then when i cut it off I saw him for like 2 seconds then he disappeared.

I beat the main story earlier today but i mostly just did character/story missions. ima save all the strangers & freaks missions and general open-world fuckery for when I get bored. Ending was kinda anti-climactic to me, and i picked what i thought would be the "best" end-game decision but all-in-all it was a pretty good story with great character development.

I just played that, I think I may have seen bigfoot. I also opened fire because I thought it was one of the hill billies. I hope i didn't just murder bigfoot.

Might stop playing the missions and just online from now on.

My last mission I did was the heist with the Sub and the Cargobob. Where Trevor had to give back the item he got, and i lost 2 million dollars.

Can you drop hoes and taxi passengers at the cults location? Or are there only a few mission specific dudes?

dunno the answer to that, i dropped the hitchhikers off, they had a bunch of audio and a lil cutscene just for them, so i doubt you could just bring anyone. it is pretty cruel but fun, you don't get paid enough for how long of a drive it is though.

I may not try for about a week. Given the insane number of people who bought this game I can't imagine things being smooth for a little while.

Is anyone else pissed about flipping around on cars and bikes/quads? I can't do shit like I used to in San Andreas. I used to just cruise around doing sideways flips whatever theyre called.\

Anyways, 10/10 game. Story ends at around 70% on your save file so don't think you have a bunch left to go, the last 30% is all side missions and stunt jumps etc.
