Classic Skate Photos
« on: November 22, 2011, 01:15:06 PM »
This thread is dedicated to the best skate photos of all time. I'll start with two of my favorites. Both shots by the legendary Daniel Harold Sturt of the no less legendary Matt Hensley from his 1990 TWS Pro Spotlight.

I saw the thread title and I was going to post those same exact same Matt Hensley photos. I'm actually doing a paper on Daniel Harold Sturt for my photography class. I know this spot has been ripped to shreds since, but this Sturt photo haunted many skateboarders when it came out.

Do you maybe have a better scan of the backside ollie I posted? That picture is so fuckin rad, the skatepark like bank next to a sidewalk, the warm afternoon sun, the perfectly styled backside ollie... makes me want to go skate everytime I see it.

If J Lee had Vans on, you could pass this off for 2011. Classic.

when i was a kid growing up in the midwest, this photo made me want to visit seattle sooooooo bad.....

and now i live about a mile away from it, and have had it as my desktop pic for over a year... life don't suck.
i'm not the official voice of the park, i'm just a guy who skates and works there...

These two are insane as well. The caption for this Jamie Thomas picture read something like: "Jamie Thomas gives a 21 stair salute to all you curb dwelling pussies out there." Big Brother Ruled.

John Cardiel: padless 540 in a snow storm. Nothing more to be said.

Wade Speyer doing thr 5-0. All the photos I posted were highjacked from the chromeballincident.com. Go over there and you can get that Muska pic at a different size.

That Mike York photo above is one of my all time favorites as well!!

This one stands out right away as well. Everything about it is just perfect. Shot by Blabac, one of my favorites.

Kalis' bs noseblunt on a cap is a favorite too. Just look at it. I want a copy of it for my wall, if one was ever made. Blabac shot as well. Don't now if it is a classic, but in my mind it stands out as one of the best skateboard photos.

Amazing photo and amazing switch flip. Shot by Allen Ying if I remember correctly.
