‘The Death of Stalin’ was both hilarious and somewhat historically accurate. Buscemi and Tambor were excellent.

I went into a 2 hour Wikipedia dive after watching and got way too deep into researching Marxism.

holy shit, didn't know this was on...thanks for heads up, definitely a favorite--especially this scene, the funniest shit ever:

for those of you who dig watching "doomsday" kind of flicks that are more feet-on-the-ground, i've watched both How it Ends (Forest Whitaker) and The Decline in the past few days, and both were pretty on point.

also, Road to Perdition is heavy as hell--how it deals with fatherhood...

Watching Watchmen, almost done but I think the way the story has developed is pretty good

I was shocked that didn’t get a second season.

On Netflix: Just started watching Caliphate and am really enjoying it.

On Prime: The Boys is great.

On Hulu (HBO?): I’ve watched 2 episodes of McMillions and am not feeling it. I think the writing was pretty bad and, subjectively, I don’t think the story was all that interesting. Maybe it gets better, I’ll find out tomorrow.

Been binging a bunch of anime on Hulu and Prime
GTO, flame of Recca - prime
Prison School, dragon ball, Ramma 1/2 - Hulu
Not much good anime on Netflix I though Altered Carbon was good

Watched The Score last night. A fun heist film with a heavy hitter  cast. Edward Norton, De Niro, and a fatt Marlon Brando. Turns out that was Brando's last film.

Killing Them Softly was dope. Brad Pitt makes everything better. Cool to see James Gandolfini. Miss that guy.

Crash was heavy & good.

Extremely bored the other day so watched Get Him To The Greek. Surprisingly really enjoyed, laughed a lot.

Running out of things to watch so started Community. Not groundbreaking or anything however I enjoy , passes the time.

I’m trying to find Mulholland Drive somewhere. They had it on Netflix before and I just came back to it recently and it’s gone.

I started this as well. Was interested in it in the beginning but the story really drags on. Found myself fast forwarding some parts and only made it to episode 4. This could have been a really well 90 minute documentary but instead they stretched it into a 6 hour long episodes.

perfect timing--couldn't think of better material for all of the armed, fragile, white Michiganders who were thousands-deep in the state capitol yesterday, to be binge-watching right now...

Agreed.

I just watched Road To Perdition for the first time. This is, at a minimum, the 3rd time I’ve equally loved Jude Law as much as I hated him.

Sam Mendes nailed the photography for this movie.

Started watching Arrested Development and love it. I actually watched this entire series years ago but was blasted on pills and do not remember anything, Except Gob breaking his tooth on a candy apple.

Saw Honeyboy on Prime. It was pretty good and has given me respect for Shia LeBouf. I will still run for my life.

It gave me the same feeling, interesting but not worth all that time.

I've finally started watching The Walking Dead, fuck me I have missed out over the years, but I'm glad I can binge watch it now.
The '80s were the worst period. You had these horrible pop bands growing their hair and calling themselves metal.

Waco is worth the watch for sure . Definitely an insane story

Religious nuts + trigger happy / militarized police force was just a recipe for disaster

yeah, it's definitely worth the watch, although i mean what i said above--there's lots of collective armed, right-wing instability in Michigan right now, and the fact that this Waco series starts off with that fucked Ruby Ridge chaos, is funnily-timed binge-watching material for the special kind of white people Michigan produces.

also agree with whitemanjazz that Michael Shannon does not do much wrong--not sure if any of y'all saw this, but it's on Netflix right now, and although it's a comparatively minimal role, Michael Shannon is cool in this:

Mud is what literary people might call a Bildungsroman ...

"i ain't no bum, i got money boy...now you can call me a hobo, 'cause a hobo will work for his living, and you can call me homeless because, well that's true for now, but if you call me a bum again, i'm going to teach you something about respect your daddy never did"

I really liked mud... not sure why it got flack...

After Mud, McConaughey went on a tear and broke free from his rom com shackles. True detective, wolf of Wall Street, Dallas buyers club

i come and go with Shameless, and i definitely think they should have just let it go at this lovely and moving high-point:

nevertheless, fucking Joan Cusack seriously shined throughout her run--the most complex character, seriously tweaked and degenerate at points, fragile and selfless a lot of the time, and just plain fucking hilarious at others, like this craze...
