How bummed is Tim Oconnor that he got nothing but colorways for years and Lucas gets on and has a shoe within a year.
[close]
Why would Tim be bummed? It's not like he's out there killing it.
[close]
I meant more like he'd been there so long and never got offered a shoe.
Obviously Lucas puts himself out there and is rewarded for it. I wasn't taking into consideration merit, only tenure.
[close]
I see what you're saying but I still think Tim should consider himself lucky to be even getting a paycheck from Adidas. Adidas is doing waaaaay more for him than he is for them.
[close]
Agreed, but he does (did) have some value to his name and I always enjoy his skating when he does it. That does count for something still these days (to me anyways).

he could be mad popular in europe. anyone from europe to confirm or deny that?

I'd be hyped on the shoe if it was a different toe cap. A one piece toe cap would be dope.

they are ugly.

Which sucks because I really want to support Lucas. But I didn't like his first shoe nor any of the colorways for his second one.

Ha-  never heard "jawn" before?

There's even a skate rag called "Skate Jawn"
http://www.skatejawn.com/

Check it out - the cover for the most recent one is this guy I know in Bed Stuy  Brooklyn with a mini ramp he built in his backyard.

Really awesome stuff if you know the area - it's kinda surreal with the area being so rundown and barbed wire being right next to the ramp's fence.

Also - nice post with the Birthday Party - already booked the gyrating spider man and venom for my 27th Birthday.

I don't see that happening, ever. He's rad but not exactly the hottest commodity on the pro shoe market.

About these Lucas' shoes, I like them. If they fit good, might get a pair.

I spoke to the Adidas rep and these are retail for $80, all pro models will be 80 dollars.

No Pete Shoe but he's one of my favorites of all time.

Busenitz is currently working on his 2nd shoe, I'm scared for him because I have no idea how he's going to top his first model. (not that he has too)

Slias' new shoe is a one piece toe cap cupsole/vulc fused model with characteristics of "hiking" styles but by no means is as close as his first model. It's a basic model that should keep everyone happy & almost make people forget about his first shoe.

Gonz now has his own line and it's going to be offered to core/mainline shops. It includes 2 Gonz colorway pro models in the mainline but is available for all core shops. He even has his own line of sweat suits with matching Gonz emblems all over it and a womans line covered in Gonz artwork.
Getcha money mang...

Oh and I back the fuck out of Lucas' shoe. I'd pay for these beauties any day. When I had them in hand, they're flexible with a standard insole. I heard that the whole Adidas team has been skating this shoe and it's a favorite amongst all the riders. Some adjustments might be made but nothing too crazy.

I'm backing Lucas's shoe.  It's refreshing to see brands stepping out of the black/white vulc box that has ruled the market for the last few years.  The toe cap is interesting, I kinda like it.  And its rad to see cupsoles making a comeback.  The price seems a lil high, but I think prices on shoes are going to be a little higher in the near future.  I mean people are buying the fuck out of Janoskis for nearly 80 bucks, and let's be honest, there is nothing to that shoe.  It offers no protection, but its aesthetically pleasing, and that seems to be all that matters to people nowadays when buying shoes.  I think functionality is going to play a bigger role when skaters are making their shoe choices.
Get litty.....
