2006 Midterms
« on: November 01, 2006, 04:08:32 PM »
Thoughts? Predictions? Politics is always a messy topic but still... Things are going to get pretty fucking crazy here in America in the next week. What is it like where you are from? I'm in the middle of Ohio stuck in the most heated shit ever. Grown men and women in my office get close to coming to fist fighting over the dumbest shit.  I love it.

I thought this topic was going to be about college midterm exams.  Politics are cool though, if the Democrats don't take back the House and/or Senate next week then this country is more stupid than I thought.
Freeze...don't move...you've been chosen as an extra in the movie adaptation of the sequel to your life.

i hope people realize that if there is only one truth in the founding of our existence, that every other religion forming our countries are wrong, that the people setting the status quo, writing the rules, starting the wars, they are wrong.  we pay taxes so my local govt can take that money and dump it into a pointless Stadium project that'll cost us 359 million tax dollars, when we don't have a professional sports team, and we never will.  these fucks are regular.

I agree with Kev 100%.

Her ein Louisiana, there aren't any heated Congressional seats or expected contests (our Republicans are slightly more regular than regular Republicans, so there won't be any major changes). We'll have some ballot issues to vote on, but nothing is going on here that could compare to Ohio, Tennessee or Pennsylvania (I can't wait to see Santorum get his nuts kicked in).

Is that the way it looks? That would be awesome.  The election overall is looking good for dems, and people who have a problem with our current government. Its all about turnout now, who shows up. The republican turnout machine is crippled by the fact that the current republicans dont follow the moral side of the republican party. Rove keeps claiming a 72 hour plan though, and that guy is a genius. If the dems can properly take over congress, maybe Bush will have to face up to a lot of his lies and failed policies, something which at the very least I assume would help the U.S. on the world stage. Maybe it wont convert any enemies, but those who are on the fence may look at us a little more favorably. Hopefully it can also help speed up withdrawal from Iraq, and help answer questions about why we went in the first place.
One thing that sucks though, Arnold Schwarzenegger is probably getting reelected.
Are you a kook? If you would say this, the answer is “YES”
