I don’t know about their Airwalk shoes but just a pad that I got Walmart Etnies for $20 and the outsole is already worn through all tread at the big toe area after about 5 sessions. There is barely any sole in the entire shoe but that was okay with me since I put FPs in it but I was expecting the top to wear out quickly, not the outsole.
For comparison, I e never had Etnies shoes before but I have emerica slip ons that I don’t skate but have worn casually for years and there is barely any wear in the sole. My previous skate shoes were Blazer mids and I mentioned in another thread that even after the sole was so worn that it was paper thin around the ball and toes, it never wore all the way through after the whole summer. And that was after years of use before. So, while I like the Etnies I got, I doubt they are going to last much longer so even as cheap as they were, I think I get more value out of buying real shoes, especially since I always wait for sales on the shoes I want and never pay full msrp.

An FYI, the Walmart etnies are clearly a "department store" budget version (similar to Kohl's Vans) and not reflective of what they put out for skaters. Any other model that is shown on Etnies website are light-years better. I say that as a means to try an actual Etnies model (if ya want to) for a real gauge on whether you like Etnies or not.

Marana, LoCut, Snake, SLB 23, etc. are all noticeably built better and won't have the same issues as the Walmart ones

Oh yeah, I get that. It’s why I mentioned I have Emerica shoes that are much better built for comparison. Even though they aren’t Etnies, I figure the quality and overall build would be similar. I was posting this more as a warning to people buying Walmart shoes what the drawbacks may be. Again, I have no idea if Airwalk is as bad but considering that I don’t even think they are a real company that makes real skate shoes at all anymore, it’s possible they might be slightly better just because there is no lower end version they need to worry about. But they could also be much worse. I’m not going to bother to find out. When my Walmart Etnies are toast, I’m going back to only buying real skate shoes.
