ALL THE SUPPORT OF A CUPSOLE, WITH THE BOARD FEEL OF A VULC

is what every shoe company has promised me for the past 10 years. I feel for folks who get heel bruises and such, but a good, well-fitting vulc shoe w/ a proper insole has never, ever failed me. To each his own..

Any Vans classic with the insole ripped out; Kingfoam and arch support in.  Perfection.

Not sure how well this new technology is, but Vans are my favorites. My all time favorite skate shoes are the Old Skools. I'm currently skating a pair of these:

Straight from the Kohls discount section (I give no fucks). They are seriously the best skate shoes I've had in a long time. They skate great. I've seriously never had a shoe break in so fast. Five minutes outta the box of just walking and pushing around on my board and they were good to go. All the new shoe stiffness had disappeared. Old Skools don't even break in that fast for me. Superglued the stitching around the ollie area and the toe and it's good to go.

What model are these? Put the wafflecup on something like this and I'll bite the hook but those shoes are ugly except the Allen's and those don't look durable or supportive.

The bearcats. Go to your local Kohls and you can find em for about 30 bucks. They seriously skate better than a lot of other shoes I've had lately and for half the price too.

That video was so painful to watch. This isn't a new idea but if it works and Vans last a little longer than I'd be happy. Next they should take the insole from the TNT's and put it in all of their skate shoes.

Those Pfanners are the closest thing I've seen to the old Vans Carrolls (including the fucking AWFUL reissues) with the exception of that hideous sole.

seriously....couldn't believe what they tried to pull with that.
In all the pairs I found, it was like every sole was a size 6, no matter how big the sizing of the upper.

Not really sure how their process of making the waffle cup it is any different from a standard vulc construction (like shown in this eS clip), aside from the order things are glued and cured.

ordered a pair of the lows in navy and the mids in black/gum from premier and they feel so good and compared to that fusion stuff from sole tech there is no comparison...btw there will be no more fusion shoes from sole tech, they already pulled the plug on it for next fall

the others look great also compared the sample pics on their website

None of those colorways are particularly good, and these things are damn expensive. I feel like I'm being takin' for a ride if I pay more than $40 for a pair of Vans; albeit, these are more advanced.

Sorry I meant to say I never skated a pair of vans. Had them as a kid but once I started skating I started with DC.  Had a pair of white Rowleys that my older bro game me to skate but they ended up being to small so I gave them away.

i'm nocturnal.

I like those shoes a lot. I'd try out a pair of the Pfanners or Crocketts. My only concern is that shoes that have large areas that lack overlapping leather and stitching tend to get ridiculously floppy. One-piece toe caps are are comfy as fuck but I can't skate in them properly after they break in. Hopefully the "wafflecup" helps keeps the shoe a bit stiffer. I can't flick properly with shoes that feel like a sock with rubber on the bottom.
