I think most of the big names of the industry check here frequently. Thats kinda marketing research for free...

Why would they care what is said? Why would they care what kids think about them, their sponsors, their tricks, their video parts? Because all of that is how they get paid. Pros don't get paid to do tricks, they get paid to have a marketable name. Doing tricks and dressing silly are two ways of doing so. Like another kid said, this shit is free marketting research.
To me it seems like nike used the shit out of messageboards to figure out how to break in.
