It's funny how you only needed 5 posts in your whole career to own this whole thread.

For that, I give you this.

Weak shit, I completely disagree.

If you don't vote then you shouldn't speak up about politics because your opinion doesn't really matter anyway.

I'm just doing my part for a solid Democrat majority.

Seriously though... to any of my republican friends reading this, please stay home. The voting machines are covered in germs and boogers.

I found it funny, and the Republicans have done a lot worse to disenfranchise the American voters.

loophole, it ain't that easy... though I do believe we'll have a Dem majority in the house (I'm gonna say by about 20-23 seats), the Senate is another matter... I'm not even going to try to take a guess because evry poll I've read has been so close that the margin of error alone would make the sway tilt either way.

Also, the Dems have been working their asses off... they put up a lot of really good moderate candidates (though i do wish for a day when we can overwhelm the seats with liberals like me... one day, maybe). Anyway, the Dems have put in a lot of effort... should we win it, it won't be something that was just handed to them.

Party affliation is a bad thing.

My votes will definitely be of the "anyone but the republican variety" this year but that is mainly to help restore the out of wack checks and balances.

If the democrats take everything over they will take things too far to the left, pissing off moderates and once again we will be back in this same republican dominated system again.

Also, if they do take over they are taking over a sinking ship. They will end up taking the blame for not 100% fixing the problems that they took over.

The best goverment is one that represents all and that isn't able to react with out lots of compromise and resistance.

Too liberal is just as bad and too conservative in my book.

I still think we should send a message of change but I don't think that voting democratic is the only means to that end.

Democrats are still politicians and can't be trusted all the same.

Sleazy most Democrats are not even close to being liberal, and going to the left would do this country a lot of good, I vote green when I can, but will take a real democrat.

You must not know anything about the left. Democrats are what the republicans where 25 years ago, Republicans are really fascists in disguise.

So true... I cringe every time I hear a Republican identify himself as being in the "party of Lincoln." There was a time in US history where the Republicans (Whigs then Republicans) were the social progressives of their day... later on in history, you had the Southern Dems (Dixiecrats) that were far-right racist fucktards... they eventually left the party and became the evangelical right wing of the Republicans.

The House win that we got has changed the Democrat party a LOT... a large number of conservative (not to be confused with neoconservative) Dems won last night... the Democrat party at this point is a large umbrella covering a large number of social and political values... from the left wing liberal lunatics like me, to the conservative old-schopol Republican-lights like Webb.

Last night was great.

John Stewart was able to sum up my concerns quite nicely

"Now that you guys have absolute power how long before you think it will corrupt you? It took the republicans 3 days." John Stewart to Howard Dean

This whole team mentality in the US is half the problem. Candidates should run on their own morals and not subscribe to prepacked idiologies and people should think for themselves and not look to their partys for guidance. That is what got us into the mess we are in right now, it wasn't the republicans, it' was a systimic flaw.

Me and my friend tested that theory driving through Nevada. We called a whorehouse and found out that while puffing on the herb is illegal, it is legal to give a women money, then force her to shove a tequila bottle up your ass and then drink the booze after she pulls it out. That is up to the discretion of customer and lady.
