Syd Barret is for sure in my top 10 musicians of all time. I wouldn't say all of his work was psych though.

see, that's funny because i was going to list comets on fire instead of six organs but, i like six organs way better.   ben chasney is a genius though, whatever genre.

I'm not.  Elevators are good but most people equate psych with the trippier, mellow stoner type stuff or more spacey proggy stuff.  I guess I only say that because I see all of these music magazines that say "Psychedelic Issue" and all it is is a picture of Jimi Hendrix and then ten pages about Hawkwind.

grateful dead 1965-1972 were possibly the greatest psychedelic blues band.

syd barret was pretty nutty, good stuff when more bluesy, but got a little too bouncy for me

even phish was fun, go see them play and eat a few tabs, mmmmm! otherwise, they're not that great.....

start with these 10 albums-

Can - Ege Bamyasi

not to be confused with Presidents of The United States...heh.

then get the first 3 albums by these cats....

another krautrock gem

this is a rad mix put together by the Groove Merchant dudes.
you should get Diplo & Tripledouble's AEIOU Pt. 2 mix, too.
totally different from Diplo usual mashup/baile/grime/reggaeton/rkelly steez.

Richard Youngs - Advent It's like Syd Barrett resurfaces 20 years later, has a four track and an oboe. Ha, it's better than it sounds.

one to grow on-

for when you need Japanese noisepsych insanity.

ok well then tell me what my taste is, if it's so in tune with the crappy ass grateful dead and even worse phish
don't act like i would have no idea what your taste is when music is pretty much all you talk about here.  i was just saying some of the music you listen to could be considered really boring, too.

i don't "keep tabs on" you.  you post here,  of course i read it.  i was just wondering what the point of calling someone out for listening to the dead in a "psychedelia" thread was.

The three greatest things ever: 1. Zombies 2. Robots 3. Now normally I would say Ninjas or Pirates, because they are both awesome, yet entirely over done, so now it is a tie between Egyptian Things and Vikings. I am also a fan of swords and hamburgers.

I don't feel the need to earn points with kids I already dislike to some degree by posting a big list of bands.
