WARNING: I'm gonna speak about some personal experience here so you can totally stop reading now if you don't want to hear me rant:

I made beats for many local rappers, and ran sound at the most popular weekly Hip Hop show in my city

and I'll tell you this... I abandoned the whole scene about 6 years ago over beefs and backstabbing artists

My old friends think that I have "fallen off" (so to speak) and treat me differently when I see them.

They are still hard at work promoting local Hip Hop (which is commendable) but unfortunately most of their

events are full of people who have alliances that hold beef, grudges and basically 'mean mug' each other in the name of 'keeping it real'

So yeah, when I hear Lil Wayne say that he'd rather chill with skateboarders..... I get it

When you do something for a long time, not to mention when it's your job, you can feel a bit jaded. However, you really can't become pro without loving, living, and breathing skateboarding.

I'm not saying Wayne is going to get bored in 6 months, but he's in the honeymoon phase. The guy is stoked to land shuvits. Not even pop shuvits, just shuvits.

i can't speak for every kid out there but from my experience skaters are cooler/realer than the average person
