John is seriously the best thing in skating right now

fed up of all the hesh/dopers/drinkers/satanists etc, Johns normality seems so unusual in this day and age plus the dudes been steady killing it for mad years

dude's been one of my favorites since i started skating, i always thought of him as the next best dude on zero after cole.
this photo (and the footage of it in the 2006 zero promo) still blows my mind

All round nice chap indeed. When the eS tam were touring through England a couple of years ago they showed up at our local spot. It was my mates birthday and he had snapped his brand new board so Rattray took his trucks off his board and gave it to my mate, it wasn't even that old. Legend.

skating needs less faggy boat shoes and more skating like this
I'm going to argue that Placebo owes their entire career to a Canadian dude's skate video part. Appleyard should be getting royalties for this shit.

I like that he's putting effort into these. Most guys begrudgingly truck out a "pop / catch / land bolts / ride away clean" clip and here's Rattray filling cans with dirt, cracking jokes and inadvertently breaking the most-riverdances-in-60-seconds record while giving a trick tip.

His last full Blueprint part is an all time classic and he's probably the only Zero rider I pay attention to anymore.

Guys in their 30's who don't party like mad 'cause they have kids and what not don't get full due respect from kids these days. Pretty sure that's why I'm not pro.

Either that or the guy doesn't really put out any footage for kids to get hyped on him.  I would welcome a new rattray part with open arms
