Savier Footwear was nike's covert operation to get into skateboarding, right?

i remember hearing they did demos where they'd hand out a pair to everyone.i also recall those tim o'connor shoes with the story engraved on the sole of the shoe.

when i was in early high school my friends went to the local park, but i was too intimidated so stayed home. the next day at school every skater had these stupid white saviers on. apparently some weird savier rv/mobile showed up out of the blue with tons of shoes, took everyones sizes and gave them all free shoes. i was incredibly jealous.

had a pair of these and they were pretty much bomb proof

plus they had this weird thing in the heel which was really grippy and kept them locked on - wish other shoes had that

those brown ones were the coolest shoes at that time imo.  I saw janoski wear em and instantly wanted a pair.

The BA 1 was my fave shoe for ages, Shermans fucking ruled and the Rattray shoe was sick too with tartan insoles and shit. Fucking loved Savier. As far as I know they where a company that Nike subbed cash too, then seeing how well it was going they pulled the plug and came up with SB range. Dont Do It

I had these because they were cheap. Really horrible shoe. So un-flexible. I always thought Savier was Nike. Some SBs still have the same Savier pattern inside the box/insoles.

Oh shit I remember that.  That was one of the coolest features.  It was smooth going one direction and rough going the other way.  Still have an autographed Tim O'Connor shoe box from those trainer shoes.  It has doodles and pictures on it.

Another happy black/red BA shoe owner here. I was bummed when they went out o' business, but not really that surprised. Plus, I never knew how to say the company's name. Savior? Sa-ve-yeah? Say-veer? Saah-vee-ey?

And Staba's were the first versions of the E-Cue and Zoom Tre.
