I've definitely gotten my bike stolen before. Don't know if I'd call the cops when I confronted the thief though. And I'd def not do it in a public place. Unless the dude was mad scary.

Plus, they did all the hard work anyway. Travelling 160 miles and cornering the guy and then letting the police come in and take him away. Its not like they called seattle pd from their home in portland.

Dude loves his bike and put a lot of money into, he can handle how he wants. I care a lot about my cameras and if someone stole one, I'd probably call the cops too.

Via, what don't you understand about the consequences being far more severe for the thief by getting the police involved. Also, it wasn't just some bike. If you had watched the video you'd know he specifically said it was a very expensive bike. $2500 I believe. Resorting to violence for in this situation is fucking childish and you run the risk of getting arrested yourself, among other things.

The people saying that are more concerned about proving to themselves and their friends that they could totally be a vigilante badass if they wanted to, as opposed to actually being concerned about what happens to the thief. A felony conviction is a lot more damaging than a black eye, and you're more likely to get your bike back with the police involved, too.

I'm at the bar, on my phone, so I can't type too much, but years agogone I had my vx2000 and lens stolen from me. My friends car got broken into while we were out. 2600 gone. Cops were called, they did nothing. Still to this day, I dont want the guy whole stole it to get some fines and walk around OK about it. I want to find him. I don't want someone to handle my shit for me. Its my stuff, its mine to deal with. I'm not a tough guy, I don't get in fights, but fuck that dude. I want to beat the shit out of whoever took my camera, and I'd like him to know I took it back. I didn't tell the teacher someone took my pencils. I just took them back. I'm not trying to sound tough. I just want to handle my situation.
