Go clippers. Fuck you Paul George
[close]

take him back! fuck!

i hope everyone gets season ending injuries and we get cooper flagg.

its not worth just scraping into the playoffs to lose in the second (first?) round again.

No take backs! That final home game at staples was fucking pathetic. Hoe hearted fake star. Tobias Harris with a flashy handle

So you’re saying he’s Paul Pierce 2.0

Well, he doesn't even have one ring. But he also hasn't shat his pants on live TV yet, so I figure it's a wash.

Sad to see Jimmy Butler wants out of Miami. Out of all the teams he been on, think the Heat the best fit. Such a scrappy team once the playoffs start

Been loving the Jokic/Westbrook combo, wasn't sure if he'd work but he's been absolutely crucial in games this year and more consistent than I thought. Now if the Nuggets defense figures out they're allowed to stop opposing teams occasionally they may just get another 'chip.

I’ve been watching highlights and Westbrook is playing great. He has been cutting to the basket and running the break. The less 3s he shoots the better off they are.

Additionally, I really like Braun and Watson. I don’t know what their ceiling is or whether they will ever be starters but they both have good energy.

They just need a consistent shooter.

Ok I’ll never complain about Chris Paul move again.   Seems like a bold one considering lakers are doing pretty well, but I guess they are not interesting in having a front court anymore.     Must be making another move to get someone around the rim

Also a move that NEvER would have happened if Cuban was still owner

The espn story has sources that say Dallas thought he didn’t take conditioning seriously and was getting fat and injured because of it

This is the craziest trade ever. As good as AD is, the Mavericks have just traded away the most dynamic player in the league. Did they not watch the series against The Timberwolves? Luka is 6 years younger than AD and AD is injury prone. Make it make sense?

Dog, I don’t know. I’m up just trying to wrap my head around it and I can’t.

I grew up less than ten minutes away from the AAC and have seen Luka play in person many a time and have gone back home in recent years to see him play, he’s a MOTHERFUCKER like few are. How he dismantled the T-wolves was incredible. They are saying they didn’t want to give him that $355 million dollar contract this summer with his injury and awful conditioning history (he started the season apparently at 270+) but still, next to Dirk (I can’t believe I’m saying this) who he is more talented than and the most talented player to wear the jersey you trade him for AD, Christie, and ONE first. It makes no sense, and since trading him now he loses out on almost 100 million on his extension and than say it’s because “defense wins championships” is such a fuck you.

WHY THE FUCK would they not trade him to Cleveland for Mobley or Orlando for Franz and Carter Jr, I don’t fucking get it.

With all do respect to the LA pals, why the fucking Lakers, I fucking hate the Lakers, the rest of the league hates the fucking Lakers, from Gasol, to Chris Paul (vetoed), and Dwight Howard, how many times does this fucking franchise have to get bailed out?

I corrected my sentence because I said Luka was older and not younger. The Lakers team makes no sense now. Two guys (LeBron and Luka) that are play makers with no one in the paint. Lakers need to trade LeBron but they just keep holding on to his old ass. He probably has a minority stake in the Lakers at this point.

I don’t want to see Luka in purple and gold. He should have been a Maverick for life. Dallas is a big enough city to have the most dynamic player in the league. Like the Bulls with Jordan. The Lakers get everything they want. It’s crazy.

It honestly makes me physically ill thinking about him in a Lakers jersey. I really thought he’d have a statue next to Dirk. DFW is the 4th biggest market and is soon to surpass Chicago… it just makes no fucking sense dude. Like we now have a two year window were we have to win a ring with Kyrie and AD.. but Luka was the future, it feels like I’m watching the entire window of my team get fucked before my eyes.

I can't see this happening without some major shit going down behind the scenes. Related to the new evil empire ownership? I just don't get it. Not only is AD not as good as Luka (at least not anymore) and older and frequently injured as you said.

But say they want to trade Luka because he's fat and has a bad attitude and they don't want to give him a supermax -  how could they accept that as the price? They dealt Luka, Kleber and Morris for AD, Christie and one measly Lakers first-round pick that will fall into when Luka will be in his prime at the Lakers. At a time when franchises are shilling out five first rounders for Mikhal Bridges, and four for Gobert. What's the angle here?

I know Luka has dealt with a lot of injuries to the same calf/leg, and since I drafted CMC this year I know the calf and Achilles are connected and he doesn’t take his diet or health seriously and the fact he’s listed at 6’6 and was supposedly playing at 270 pounds prior to the injury what is the long term outlook on him and their championship window? I don’t know the whole thing makes zero sense, I’m in the false acceptance stage of this.

I believe they add in Fort Wayne. Don’t know if you are interested in migration patterns but I really enjoy looking at the following infographic. Not sure who made it but it would be great to have a program for this type of chart so you just type in the data.

They traded Luka because they’re concerned about health/injuries for…. AD?!?!? Also wild that this came out of nowhere and no one knew it was happening (Luka, Lebron or AD).

I can’t see the Mavs winning it all this year and now they just have aging stars that won’t be long term. I don’t think Luka with the Lakers is a great fit at the moment but there’s no fuckin way you turn down this dumbass offer and they may find a way to make it work.

Also wild, Luka won’t be eligible for a supermax so he’s losing a significant amount of money from this.

On paper this current Lakers team is nonsense so I’d put money on LeBron being traded by the deadline. The fact that he didn’t get a heads up on this is a sign that they’re over him anyways.

As a Lakers fan I'm beyond excited for this move. I think it goes without saying we won the Pelicans trade (2020 ring and turning AD into Luka) lol. The rest of the league can cry and shit and piss all over themselves but the reality is the Lakers are now built for the future. I was a lifelong LeBron hater and knowing he's on his way out is a giant relief, trade his washed ass to Golden State. Also, rumors are that the Mavs new ownership group (Adelson family=Casino moguls) want to move the team to Vegas, sucks for Dallas fans but this is them shedding a potential supermax deal and frees them up for a move. Their GM is the same guy that fumbled getting Steph Curry to sign with Nike so don't be surprised that he made a bonehead deal.

Mavs GM gotta be investigated for this shit. You have a 25 year old generational talent. And you decide not only to trade him, but trade him for an aging and injury-prone center, a rookie, and ONE 1st round pick????? Fucking Mikal Bridges went for 5 FRPs. Trading Luka for ANYONE (except MAYBE Tatum, Wemby, Jokic, SGA, or Giannis) is idiotic. I dont care if homie is out of shape. He carried you guys to the Finals last year. At age 25. HE DIDNT EVEN ASK OUT. The Mavs GM thought hmmmmm, I really wanna trade this guy. Let's get AD!!!!! Nahhh bruh. If the entire league knew Luka was available, it would turn into the greatest arms race the NBA's ever seen. Teams would've been willing to trade their wives, children, and parents to have Luka.

How the hell is the deal not something like [AD + Knecht/Reaves + Christie + 5 FRPs]????? The Mavs got absolutely fleeced and I feel terrible for all the Dallas sports fans out there. At least the Rangers won the WS in 2023 and you'll always have Dirk's 2011 run. But fuck man. There's gotta be more than meets the eye. Some real spooky shit going on behind the scenes. Because this shit makes ZERO sense.

And fuck the Lakers + their fanbase. You spoiled mothafuckaz!!! Going from Shaq+Kobe->Pau+Kobe->LeBron+AD->Luka within the last 25 years is absurd. Adam Silver called this in. He saw people were getting bored and decided to hold the Mavs at gunpoint and spoonfeed his precious Lakeshow one of the greatest entertainers the game's ever seen. I'm sick.

Thunder in 4.
