half cabs got the worst treatment

the tongues are thinner and thinner.

a look into the future..?

YEP all the vans that me and my friends have had recently have been jacked as shit... think they dont need the skateboarding market to make money anymore.

Hey, its a good thing. The morons over at lakai and emerica finally figured out that quality matters. The longer these big corporate companies stay the harder these slacker companies have to try. Im not paying you money so you can short change me with a smile.

Don't they make vegan shoes which is why kids who listen to hardcore and ride fixed gear bikes wear them?

The confusion for me is that they don't use athletes or celebrities to push their shoez. How are you gonna have a skate division with no team to back it? That'd be the worst attempt to enter skateboarding yet, but the chief seemed to clear that one up already. Until september my front door was directly across the street from the new balance headquarterd, so seeing j.t around town wasn't uncommon. What's odd is that this deal seems to have been going on since only summer, so if anything i assume theres a chance that the first full run of their skate line might come  looking a little rushed

new balance is sick at what they've been doing for years. they keep around 70% of the stock they sell in the states made in the USA(according to the 70% rule). thing is, it looks like black box will be doing the manufacturing for these, so probably running through the same factories as fallen. i'm just speculating though.

also, puleo? makes sense, but will probably be a trainwreck.

edit** weird, after reading the interview, it looks like blackbox licensed the name from NB and will be basically running this as a blackbox brand from the ground up. hmph? i thought they were just helping NB out with art direction marketing strategies etc.

THIS

Currently, i rather buy Adidas or Nike, since they are high quality and last long. I'm a skater, but i'm also a consumer. I'm not going to buy poor quality shoes so i could smile and feel like i'm supporting "core skating". The skater owned companies should have realized by now, that they have to take their business seriously. Not just make some random shoe with a poor quality and then be all "yeahh braahhh lets go smoke some weed and skatte maaaannn".

One of my favorite shoes. Probably the most comfortable shoe I've ever skated.

All these people romanticizing New Balance and trying to shit on actual skate companies to try to justify buying a pair of NB# in advance... I would wait until you see the shoes before talking about how great they'll be... Doubt they'll be made in the US, doubt they'll look any better than most other skate shoes, doubt they'lll skate any better than existing shoes. Let's be real here, they probably won't bring anything new to the market. Although I say this because, personally, I don't think New Balances look good at all; too many random lines and then a huge N on the side of every shoe.

Weird and sad that there seems to be an anti-skate shoe company sentiment coming along these days... I don't really have anything against buying nike, adidas, etc. But to talk shit about real skate shoe companies and hype up these random corporations coming in? It's fucked up... There should at least be a little pride in the "core" companies if you ask me.

Like the local shop owner(great shop) was talking about the G-6 and how he doesn't want to order any because "sole tech is on the way out," just kind of made me sad that people don't even want to give skate shoe companies a chance anymore and instead are in the corporate corner... Again nothing wrong with corporate shoes, but at least show a little love to the real.

it is true that nike and adidas made skater owned companies up their quality, and they did that quite a lot. if you still shit on the new lakai/emerica/fallen product (marc/G6), then you either havent skated them or are an idiot. downside is that they also adopted the SB prices.

It's only fair. Skate companies have been getting into the lifestyle shoe market for the past 5-6 years now.

The Emerica Hopi anyone? You know it's the perfect bong shoe.

Emerica Hobbit would have been more accurate.

So hyped.  There aren't any sidewalks on the way to the park 3 miles from my house, just grass and dirt.  I prefer to run to the prefabricated skatepark anyway to save gas and these shoes will give me the extra comfort and support I've always wanted from a skateshoe.  Plus I think that Jamie Thomas is a savy businessman with good family values and a healthy faith in the lord jesus christ and I think he deserves his success.  I think New Balance have really gone with an excellent name too, Numeric.  I think I'm going to make a NB Numeric shirt right now with a permanent marker and a white hanes tee.

Quite the opposite, SoleTech has amazing shoes lined up.
Just wait for G6, Reynolds mid, Reynolds low, Provost shoe and amazing new Heritic shoe.

It isn't a great shop if the owner thinks like that.  If Sole Tech is on the way out, it's because of people like him.

I dont wanna talk shit about Fallens since im wearing them since 2007 and i havent tried anything else since that day, but lets say Jamie finally figured it out that Fallen are really uncomfortable shoes to wear (and skate too)...
