Coincidentally, I came across this photo shoot from New Balance Korea in which they appeared to hold a skate clinic while debuting a new skate shoe (presumably for the Asian market), supplying the public with Penny cruisers and longboards to learn on.

I'd definitely get those. Insole looks great and the shoe reminds me of the Campus Vulc or Nike SB Bruin.

So why do we need a new brand to make the same model of skate shoe all the other brands already make and everyone already likes?

Obviously we dont, but its nice and refreshing to get a new company and try them out or even look at their products. Also it looks like they might be even better then the shoes I mentioned in my previous comment.

I live in Korea and those came out a here few months ago. i got a pair to chill in and ended up skating in them. they are pretty sick. way better than the recent onslaught of terribly made Half Cabs. New Balance has many shoes similar to this as well...i guess they aren't sold in the states?

anyway, was a good shoe.  warning:  Korean-y lifestyle shots down below.

New Balance is a rad company. People on here are upset over nothing.

If that's what they're gonna look like, I'm not impressed. I'm sure they'll be comfortable, but I expected a little bit more. Something different. I didn't plan on buying a pair anyways.

Those have nothing to do with the skate line coming out. Every company has a shitload of shoes made for Asian markets that never leave those markets.

$lave should move over to Tum Yeto.

I second that notion! All those other Black Box companies have been shit for a minute, but $lave is still super rad! Isn't greed some kind of sin in that mythological, fairy tale book that Jamie reads?

My style of dress is basically a cross between skater and grown up.  NB skate shoes sound right up my alley.  As long as they keep the colour ways classy I'm sold.  Either all black, or white/gum soles with solid dark colours.  None of this two tone, tri tone, baby blue and purple bullshit we've been seeing from other companies.

Why? To me it's interesting that another company is coming in. We don't even have that many. Those corny pictures are major turn offs though...

how about we all just buy whatever skateboarding-related products from companies we like and not care what other companies sell skateboarding products, and then use those products and have fun without constantly being told the skateboarding industry is failing because someone bought products from one company and you bought them from another.

SERIOUSLY. Ive skated my whole life but im not going to be a pro skater, im never going to get paid by the skateboard industry yet Ive given them more money than anything else since middle school
