Shit I'll be the hottest dude at the retirement home with those.  Also, why does the sole have a cum stain design?

Damn, those are dope.
I'd get these forsure. I'd really like a black and white colorway too.

Looks good on first sight, I agree. It seems like they really put some effort into it and 2013 will be definitely the subtle-tech year.

If you look closely they still cook with water though...How can you use fused seams on your flagship-model and then put a stiched logo on the sidewall? Your logo will look like shit after 1 hour of skating, fuse it on already! Same with the canvas collars and tongues: if you are going for tech, don't use material that fray out within minutes in wear areas. Not to mention that the cup sole-pattern looks shallow, I'm afraid the grip will be gone after 10 hours since you have no thread anymore...

Sorry for nerding out here, but I had to get it off my chest somewhere...

Looks like they are not bringing anything new, just a bunch of cloned skateshoes

They really do look just like every other pair of shoes in the skateboarding market right now. Curious on how well they skate?

THIS.

And those shoes look like they could be some DC shoes.
I think those guys are trying to enter the market too late, anyway, I hope they are only going to steal the Nike/DC tech market share.

Am I the only one that thinks that Adidas is the only one that is doing their shit nice whether from their communication or their team? I feel it could be like a small brand, you hear of them from time to time but no cheesy shit, no overwhelming advertising nor launching of 15 models a month. They have the money but are doing their shit right in my opinion (that being said I?ve never skated a pair of Adidas skateboarding, they don?t fit right to my feet)

The blue and red ones look alright, the rest are kind of bland and boring. I am going to support Lakai or Emerica on my next purchase.

In celebration of such an important moment in the history of skateboarding I have just bought me two pairs of HUFs.

Adidas has always been a "cool" brand though because of it's long relationship with hip hop culture.  They've always seemed to make the right marketing choices.  NB's are just for...running.

IMO they're not ugly. But I believe they missed a good chance on bringing something new to the table aesthetically speaking. But we'll see the price and how they skate/last to make a final conclusion.

2nd vote would be for PJ. sometimes it is a fine command of the english language to say nothing and he extended that to skating. PJ's plan B part is the emperor's new clothes.

Adidas has always been a "cool" brand though because of it's long relationship with hip hop culture. They've always seemed to make the right marketing choices. NB's are just for...running.
[close]

Also, Adidas has had a skate team since..... some time in the 90s. I know the earliest ad I can remember was with Kalis and that was like, 95-96. They've always had a dope team too. Back in the 90s it was Gonz, Quim, Matt Beach and Paulo Diaz. Plus Harold Hunter and Richard Angelides skated the shelltoes pretty consistently.

At this point you just pick who does the most that you agree with- Yeah Adidas is a big company, but then you've got skate companies doing shit with musicians (Supra/Lakai), or weirder collabos with video games (Fallen) or companies like DC- who flat out go make shoes for motocross and mall kids etc. Business is business and they all want to make money. I'd argue the quality of some of the skater owned ones, but it looks like Emerica and Lakai have really taken that into account and are changing a lot for the better.

Yeah but in the 90's, Adidas skateboarding was brand new, in the same boat as NB is now. Nostalgia doesn't automatically equal legit. They became legit because, like you said, of they're sick team and direction. NB can do the same, especially with PJ on now. Within the next 10 years they will either become elite or fail completely, and based on the first batch of shoes I say they are headed in the right direction.

While that's true, DC has had better quality than Emerica and Lakai for 5 years or more (even sponsoring gayness). Lakai fell off a 5 years ago, to the point where now I can get 2 pairs of Lakai for $600 HK and one pair of Nike for $800 and I still buy the Nikes (and that one pair will last longer). This is the problem Emerica is addressing/ lakai? Looking at their other goods what do you think?

Adidas has put out some good skate shoes GONZ 1 and 2 were sick. Tabi boots.

Stop with the quality thing. Quality went down because some fuckers wanted thin ass shoes to rock with their skinny jeans. Emerica, Nike, Lakai, Adidas, New Balance, it's all the same shit. It's not like you're burning through a pair of shoes in a week or two. You're not that good.
