If I skateboard on days that end with "y" I tend to fall a lot.

My friend used slap his board a few times before he committed on a gnarly trick. I asked him why he did it, and he said something like "its knocking on wood, I figure if I'm gonna commit I gotta do what I can to make sure luck is on my side. It helps me get a bit more confidence to commit." The logic worked on me and I started doing it. Now if I roll up to something big and realize I haven't done that I'll freak out and jump off the board and start over. Its not like an OCD Reynolds type thing, the number of times or any of that doesn't really matter, it really is just a silly superstition.
Are you a kook? If you would say this, the answer is “YES”
I quit skating for a time due to piling out

The Muska says, "Never say 'one more try.'"

said this one skating a hubba a year ago to get a better photo of a useless trick i did twice in a row already and dislocated my ankle, broke my fibula, completely tore every single ligament and tendon on the medial side of my ankle and ripped it an inch wide open to the bone.

I say "last try" and that's it. Last one is last one.

Last time I said "last try", I got fucked up.

I think all of us say last try on tricks and do like 10+ more after that cause we just keep getting so close.

I piled out for a while in the summer after it happened but I've been working real hard to rehab it, it happened 8 months ago and I did my first painless kickflips a few weeks ago. Still got alot of work to do but I got lucky and got surgery to fix the ligaments and put a plate in the night it happened. Full on catheter stay in the hospital for three days in Montreal.

mostly for comfort, though you might call it a superstition but I like three pushes before a trick. Its not a hard and fast rule and Its not like I truly believe Its bad luck. Its just three pushes usually feels like i'm setup perfectly and confident to do the trick. Plus more often than not I land things after the magic 3 as opposed to any other number.

Fuck, that's gnarly. Congrats on the painless kickflip!!!

I'm rehabbing my knee right now. Nothing crazy like your injury.

I tore my ACL and tore meniscus. I got at least 6 months before I can skate again.

I have to knock on my board or something wooden every time I go. Last time I didn't I almost broke my wrist slipping out on a front crook. Also not saying last try anymore. The other day said last try and rolled my ankle and did the splits in one motion.

I never end the session on a sour note or a bail, even if I
have to do a kickflip on flat to finish.. It just makes me feel better.

Maybe an AM issue or something.

if my shoes are untied i can't try a trick. also if i can't land something i'll try to do atleast one flatground trick first and it usually helps me get in the groove.
Man the long board truck thing killed indy for me. I was willing to set aside the racism, but long boarding, gtfo... - DH

Na, i have believed this since i was a kid. i have rolled my ankle several times and dislocated my knee on a red top. my homie broke his wrist twice and busted his teeth out riding one. he wont even ride a board with a red ply in it period. i will have to check that interview out though

Not really a superstition, but when Im trying to land a trick, and it doesnt work, for example a ledge trick, I imagine that Im doing a line, and this is just a first trick, and it usually helps me land that shit.

I don't know if its a superstition but when i try a trick down a set ill try it, then roll up to it, then try it etc like 1 try 1 roll up. If im pussying out i just say to my friends "if i dont stick it this go hit me". Usually works

when I lose a bolt... the worst. It may not have an effect on the overall performance of my setup but I can't skate when I look down and see a little hole
Look, I'm an individual within us, partaking in this business

If there's a few of us sessioning something, whether it's in the park or street, when you take it in turns, if someone snakes me or a miss my turn I pass my turn or roll up and deliberately pussy out or scope it out, just to keep to the order

In general, I'm not superstitious...but I am a little stitious about stickers on my board. I feel like it'll make my board lopsided or something.

I'm kinda ocd about my setup. I always check my bolts before a session to make sure they're not lose. Also I'm constantly looking down on my trucks and spinning my wheels in between tricks.
